To think I might be pregnant?

bringbackaqualibra · 16/02/2011 21:11

I am BF and for the first time in about a year (DS is 15months) my nipples are sore. Just posted in breast and bottle feeding and someone just said 'that is exactly how I felt when I was pregnant'... Shock

Since then no more replies, but I am suddenly in shock thinking that maybe I am... Would be completely unplanned.

Did anyone else feel like this when they were preg? Or could it just be teething -- AIBU to be obsessing over this?

Sore nipples = very common pregnancy symptom.

Stop obsessing and buy and use a test. Then you'll know what's happening.

Kerrianne · 16/02/2011 21:14

Yes just buy a test

TattyDevine · 16/02/2011 21:15

Well, do you have sex? Do you use contraception? One hopes you are not still relying on BF as contraception at 15 months. If you have sex ever then you might be, pee on a stick.

And tell us the results. Live, twitter style.

"I'm dipping it in the mug"
"Its an Aresenal FC mug by the way"
"I'm starting the stopwatch. 2 minutes"
"1 minute to go"
"And the results are...."

etc.

Or, if your periods aren't back yet, could be ovulation.

But you know the only way to really know is to test. Smile

Gemsy83 · 16/02/2011 21:17

You could be- anyone who is of childbearing age could be. Silly thread! POAS and dont expect us to be able to look into our crystal balls!

tummytickler · 16/02/2011 21:17

If it makes you feel any better I bf'd ds for 3 years, and went through phases of having really sore nipples, which would then ease up after a week or so and be fine again for another 6 - 8 months or so. I think there suck changes as they get older and the latch needs to be adjusted slightly, also they start wriggling more.

However - you still have to get a test Grin

bringbackaqualibra · 16/02/2011 21:18

Sorry. It is a very silly thread. Blush
I will POAS soon.

I kept thinking I was pg for exactly this reason when I was bf ds1 - periods did not return until he was 18 mo and I did not conceive ds2 for another year after that.

When I did get pg it wasn't just sore nipples, it was wince-when-he latches-on territory though. No comparison.

That said, everyone is different and whatnot so you should test. May be worth getting a stash of cheapy tests though.

bringbackaqualibra · 16/02/2011 21:25

Lol Tatty BTW - Arsenal FC indeed!

Have your periods restarted? Maybe you have sore premenstrual boobs?

OmniaParatus · 16/02/2011 21:27

I got sore nippples while bf'ing our DD when I was about 20 weeks pg with DS2. It didn't happen any earlier than that, so while it may be a symptom, I don't think it is an early pg symptom, more a later pg one.

Having said that, I am so curious, please report back Grin.

bringbackaqualibra · 16/02/2011 21:28

Ah, eco, I am getting the wincing...

OP posts:
blackeyedsusan · 16/02/2011 21:31

Sore nipples are common when brestfeeding, but buy a cheap test to put your mind at rest.

bringbackaqualibra · 16/02/2011 21:31

Yes Hobnob - that's what I'm thinking. May just be PMT. Have had periods for a while though and haven't had this before.

Omnia - will report back Smile - may be too early to test now though...

tummytickler · 16/02/2011 21:37
