to think that Secret Diary of a Call Girl is a disgraceful pile of wank and Billie Piper should have a word witrh herself.

I mean honestly. It is awful. The gleeful life of a prostitute.

The ads are all over the place on TV and in magazines and Billie Piper is about as sexy as my big toe.

It's a ghastly programme and I wish it wasn't on.

I know I don't have to watch it (I don't) but think crap glamorising the life of a prostitute has no place on prime time telly, frankly

Agreed. I posted this when the first series aired and the responses were very much " get over yourself". Although undoubtedly beautiful and acting with great aplomb, I really wonder how she will feel about this role in years to come.

It's more normalising prostitution as one big hoot -propogating myths. I feel it is actually a really damaging show and I can't wait until it's done and dusted. I despise the message it promotes to young people.

I like BP but I think it's a disgraceful premise for a TV programme, and sets a terrible example for young girls.

I'd like to know how she justifies it to her son in future years.

Only watched one of the first episodes, thought it was utter tripe.

I don't "get" BP at all, I didn't like her in Dr Who, but she had the acting world at her feet when she left that show. Why, oh why, oh why did she decide it was a good career move to make a crap show on ITV 3?

Anything which glamourises prostitution is a big No No in my book. The average prostitute is more likely to be trafficked and on drugs.
I have never watched this programme but it sounds dodgy.

I think that sometimes TV (and any artform) needs to be able to challenge preconceptions and explore new ways of looking at things. Otherwise we still wouldn't see any gay people or single mothers on TV; portraying either of which would once have been unthinkable. That said, where it is a sexual subject it's probably better to show it quite late at night.

BP is absolutely stunning and whoever does the styling on the show is fab.

I have to squish down my feelings of unease over the whole Glamourising Prostitution thing...but I manage to do that quite well.

Something like SATC is FAR more insulting, demeaning and...well, shit imo.

I would hardly suggest this particular programme is pushing boundaries or challenging anyone's view of prostitution. If that is what it sets out to do then the programme makers have failed drastically.

Oh pip did you see Emilia Fox in Merlin this year?

She spent the first half of the series in chainmail and a cloak, and then the second half standing behind a chair (or with someone kneeling at her feet with their head in a strategic position.

Several episode passed quite nicely with the family playing 'spot the bump'.

Can't really be arsed to get all worked up and clutch at pearls over the prostitution angle but agree the programme is so wanky it makes me cringe.

BP could do better imo.
