Is it unreasonable to ask for help in letting my sons girlfriend live her dream??
She has been put through to the final 10 in the Kiss Fm Chosen One presenter competition!! Now it's all down to public votes !!
All we need to do is go to the link below and vote for Maisy James. If you then share it on your FB profile, your friends will see it and can do the same!!!
THANK YOU for helping a young girl live her dream.....

What a ridiculous hat.

anyway, thanks for sharing this competition with us. I voted for Rachel.

The thing is, with stuff like this, we vote for who we think is the best candidate, not who a stranger TELLS us to vote for. We dont care for your sister/daughter/toy unicorn or bathroom mirror (which I think Ms James must be lacking)

RIZZ0 · 13/02/2011 16:39

Quite Quint.

Jkourtaa · 13/02/2011 16:42

As I said on my other thread, yes I have 2, I just thought I could help her. Of course you should watch all contestants and make your choice- by me posting, at least you're looking!
I don't mean to offend or upset anyone!
Ok I hold my hands up to not thinking before posting, as you can imagine we are all overjoyed that she's even got this far, so all over the place at the mo!
She is in fact my sons girlfriend, almost my daughter in law-I didn't lie, just didn't repeat everything again in second thread.
As I've said, I didn't meant to upset or offend, I'm just thinking if ways to help- as I'm sure the friends and family of all contestants are too.
It's your choice to vote fir whoever you like, if you even bother at all.
I can seriously say, I really didn't think I'd get this reaction, I just thought no one would respond at all!!
Oh well, wrong again....

But the hat says ' I am cute and quirky'
No really. It really does. It is a hat loaded with personality.

[go fidel]

go fidel gets auto corrected to go fiddle ...which sounds faintly rude.

TheMonster · 13/02/2011 16:49

Has her other thread been pulled?

QuintessentialShadows · 13/02/2011 16:55

OP, mumsnet sort of get a little inundated with threads like this. It is not a moderated site, but most threads like this get pulled, because they are quite unpopular.

I can assure you, if the family of any of the other contestants were to post a thread here, it would get the same reception, unless the contestant in question is the son/daughter of a longstanding member on this site.

ChippingInAuntyToThomas · 13/02/2011 16:56

Yes the other thread was pulled this one has been left - maybe no-one reported this one or maybe MN H Q are just in a nice, friendly mood :)

Jkourtaa · 13/02/2011 16:57

Yes - oh well I tried!
As I said, didn't think it through - sorry for p*ing you all off! Truely!
Thanks for even bothering to comment...

no worries. Smile mostly people are quite rude if we dont vote for the contestant they are trying to push, and get a little narky.

You are welcome to stay and join the "fun" here, you seem very nice. And we dont bite. Honest!

(Well sometimes we bite a little)

Jkourtaa · 13/02/2011 17:05

Thanks! I may just take a look around the site whilst I'm here!!
I certainly won't be making any requests anytime soon though!!!!!

OP posts:
QuintessentialShadows · 13/02/2011 17:07

you are most welcome

TheMonster · 13/02/2011 17:08

Maybe it was the title of the other thread that meant it was pulled.

OP, have a look around. It's a great and very addictive site.

(But, just to clarify, is that girl your daughter or your son's girlfriend?)

Jkourtaa · 13/02/2011 17:23

She is my sons girlfriend. They have been going out for around a year now. I called her my daughter in other thread as it was quicker! She is practically my daughter as she's here most of the time .... That's a whole new thread in itself :-/
She's a lovely girl and would make a lovely daughter in law ...... One day!!
Someone made the comment about not pinning all your hopes on one dream, they were right and I gave told maisy this, but she's 18, and wants her dreams to be a reality . None of us, especially her, ever thought for a minute she'd be in with a chance of the becoming a reality, it's all happened so quickly. She only auditioned a couple of weeks ago!
Anyway, what's meant to be will be - regardless of intervention from an over ambitious " surrogate mother in law" !!!

I voted for Jacqueline and posted it to my Facebook wall. Thanks for bringing it to my attention:)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 13/02/2011 18:34

I hate this sort of thing. It is just pandering to vanity IMO.

onetwothreetennineeight · 13/02/2011 18:48
