A friend popped over earlier and saw my 9 mth old eating lunch and we got to talking about weaning and so forth.

She then asked what dc had had to eat today, what was for dinner and said that it wasnt enough and I was 'starving the poor child'!

Todays menu has been:

Breakfast - pot of yoghurt mixed with oats and a slice of toast with butter

Lunch - half a hummus and cheese sandwich and third of a can of sliced peaches

Dinner - will be roast beef with roast vegetables. Banana for pudding.

Snacks over the day may include cheese, bread sticks, maybe a biscuit. Also 5 or 6 feeds across the day before going down to sleep.

This is a typical days menu.

Now AIBU in thinking this is an ok diet for a 9 month old or do I need to be completely re-educated as I am starving my child??

yanbu that is plenty, can not be considered as starvation at all. maybe your friend is one of these extreme overfeeding people, some people are weird about kids food. sometimes my children would eat half a large portion of food which i would think fine, they have had enough that is no problem but would get grandmother almost wailing that oh no they havent finished it they will waste away. some people have a strange idea the more food u can stuff into them = the better mum you are and the more you love them. just ignore ignore ignore, her diet sounds fine and definitely wouldnt say it's not enough for her age
