I'm currently being subjected to Glee.

It is awful - the songs are just dubbed over the top.

The acting is wooden.

Why is this programme so raved over what am I missing?

Did love it but the 2nd series is going downhill (Am up to date with US)

OracleInaCoracle · 12/02/2011 18:29

I love it. it just makes me happy. i dont have to concentrate or think about it and it is just nice. i watched every episode when i was in bed with my ribs and it was perfect painkiller fodder!

CheerfulYank · 12/02/2011 18:32

I adore it. I have the calendar on my fridge Blush

mamadiva · 12/02/2011 18:45

I have watched approximately half an hour (of last weeks episode with massively gay fan who is also my best mate :o) and it was shit!

Songs are AWFUL rip offs, acting is what can only be described as talentless piss on a stick and don't even get me started on the (non) choreography!

Anyway moving on... :o

AtYourCervix · 12/02/2011 19:14

can someone please look at my Glee query thread in telly adicts. it's v lonesome with no answers on it.

CheerfulYank · 12/02/2011 19:48

Have done :)

TotalChaos · 12/02/2011 19:57

Its so bad its good imo. But v earnest and well meaning with it.

serin · 12/02/2011 20:15

My Mum loves Glee and she is 77 bless her.

pickledpoo · 12/02/2011 20:53

I used to enjoy it - Sue Sylvester is sooo fab, and the early episodes were good fun....but I think the music has gone really boring this series - and what's with the crap lipsynching, they're always out of time!!

DandyDan · 12/02/2011 22:27

There is a character in a wheelchair, mentioned someone above.

Yeah, played by an able-bodied actor so that they could do dream sequences where he can actually climb out of his wheelchair. Like, that's really accepting of disability?

What do they do on their concert tour? Still pretend that he can't walk?

It's not well-meaning - it's insulting. And so far past being ironic it comes back the other way.

Tical · 12/02/2011 22:28

Awful, juvenile, over-hyped tosh.

MissAnglia · 12/02/2011 22:30

I'm with you lowprofile. A bigger pile of crap I have never seen. The shite covers music is appalling, the acting worse and the insipid, moralising American characters make me want to vomit.

Other than that it's great Hmm

CheerfulYank · 12/02/2011 22:31

What's wrong with being moralizing?

diddl · 12/02/2011 22:32

I´ve never seen it.
Looks so shit from the ads that I´m wouldn´t waste my time with it tbh.

2 words for you SUE SYLVESTER...Smile

OracleInaCoracle · 14/02/2011 10:52

i agree with poncey, have you seen the dream on episode? he wants to be able to dance, artie is in a wheelchair as result of an accident and wants to be able to walk. he fantasizes about it. i dont find it insulting, i find it perfectly understandable and believable.

FooffyShmoofer · 14/02/2011 10:56

The plots don't make any sense, most of the characters are waaay over the top and yes the acting isn't fabulous BUT I think it is a harmless bit of fun and wouldn't miss an episode. It's on Series link.

OracleInaCoracle · 14/02/2011 11:00

exactly foofy. i dont want to have to concentrate on every programme i watch. i dont want to pick apart and analyse, its nice to just watch something and smile!

birdynumnums · 14/02/2011 12:17

YABU. I love glee. It's ridiculously cheesy but it's firmly tongue in cheek. Have a slightly perverted crush on Puck (I deem this to be ok because the actor is his late 20's Smile)

CheerfulYank · 14/02/2011 14:47

That's exactly what I say about Finn birdy! I felt perv-a-licous before finding out the actor is actually a bit older than I am. :)

Although after watching Puck sing Fat Bottom Girls the other night I may switch my allegiance! :o
