I don't mean old manky bras or anything - I've recently lost a chunk of weight & have always had a bit of an underwear habit... hence I have lots of very pretty bras which are way too big for me now.

They're mostly Freya/Fantasie makes, really funky designs & were pretty expensive to have been only worn about 6 or 8 times each.

I mentioned to dh that I might put them on ebay & he reckoned i'd be wasting my time & no-body would want them.

Would you buy an already worn bra? (I do have pants/knickers to match each bra, but even I wouldn't entertain wearing another woman's undies!)

people will buy fantasie and freya, if advertised as only worn a few times.

what size????

i am 34e!!! what ones.

emsyj · 11/02/2011 21:58

I am not precious and would certainly buy lightly used but good condition Fantasie bras in a 32DD please Grin

Booandpops · 11/02/2011 21:59

If not then donate to charity as I saw a program that charity shops get the mist money for old bras from anything as the 3rd world are crying out for them.

Booandpops · 11/02/2011 22:00

Most

mollymawk · 11/02/2011 22:04

Also I think you can give them to women's refuges - they need everything

FairhairedandFrustrated · 11/02/2011 22:10

No, most of them are 36ff

One is black & white leopard print with a pink lace trim

Another is bright pink with lighter pink flowers & lace

Another white with black flowers (this is an older bra & has been worn quite a bit)

this

Another freya one is black with pink lace & bow

Also have a fantasie 36F flesh coloured strapless worn once.

And an all in one Ivory coloured strapless body 36F worn once.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 11/02/2011 22:11

Sorry the Ivory body is 38F.

Charity shop a good idea, and if I can't sell them then I will take them to the one beside my work.

that really made me laugh. Bra aid perhaps? Mamfam... sponsor a boob?

NonnoMum · 11/02/2011 22:16

Ebay.

Ooopsadaisy · 11/02/2011 22:19

Anything in nice in a 30E?

Bras are a shocking bloody price.

I sold all my Freya bras on ebay! Have bought used before too - always been immaculate. They cost such a bloomin fortune new, people are glad of it i think!

plupervert · 11/02/2011 22:38

Women's refuges are a better bet than the developing world, as western women are - ahem - very bosomy because of diet. I know I am! Grin

I've got a whole lot of bras to go, too, and am considering eBaying or freecyling. I hadn't considered women's refuge, so thanks for that, mollymawk.

Changeisagoodthing · 11/02/2011 22:40

They collect them in sainsburys- for charity but can't remember which.

They sell ok on eBay but can't sell briefs with them

Big bras and very small bras sell best on ebay. Include overseas posting as I mostlynsell to Germany but Spain coming in strong at moment for bras.

Maud2011 · 11/02/2011 22:42

I've read about charities where you can donate old bras... just googled and here's a link. Must add that I haven't actually got around to donating my old bras so I can't recommend it personally.

FreudianSlippery · 11/02/2011 22:45

You could give them to women's aid refuge, perhaps with some other old clothes? I'm giving a load of maternity clothes to them along with some nursing bras.

Well done for losing weight btw - hopefully I'll be in your shoes in a few months!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 12/02/2011 18:02

Thanks for all these ideas!! It's a real waste for them all to be sitting in a big shoe box!!

Freud - I lost 4 stone with slimming world, wasn't like a 'diet' at all :) Best of luck to you xx

My friend died recently and I swear I counted 50 plus bra’s when clearing out her flat. There are charities that will take bra’s (other underwear we disposed of). Most of these bra’s were unworn (she worked for a well known underwear company for many years).

Zombie. This thread is from 2011.

Dreamqueen · 29/05/2025 08:09

I lost weight too and I've sold my fantasie and freya bras on vinted. Some I sold individually and made others into bundles. They sold really quickly as they were lightly worn or like a strapless one only worn once. price them realistically.
Congratulations on the weight loss @FairhairedandFrustrated
