To want to re-use spray bottles?!

I think I must be! It seems that all the spray products I buy, which aren't many tbh, are designed specifically so you cant re-use the bottle!

The latest one is the Dettox bottle that was fine with Dettox in it, until I washed it out and refilled it with just plain water and now it will barely squirt!

So much for reduce, re-use and recycle!

I'm glad i'm not the only person that does this. I like to re-use my spray bottles too if i can get away with it. Wost one was a Mr Muscle Kitchen cleaner, which wouldn't work at all when i refilled it with water.

I use Ecover surface spray and I have re-used the bottles for a range of other things. Perhaps use a more 'green' brand in the first place?

Method product bottles are reusable.

And they actively encourage you to reuse their spray bottles (I use mine for indoor plants).

I blinking love Method.

Thanks for the tips.

As I said, I dont buy spray stuff very often, I only bought the Dettox as we had a tummy bug in the house. Normally I use the liquid stuff you get in normal bottles and ordinary Dettol.

zukiecat what a fab idea! I'm totally going to try that now!!

I do that too when I am running low on fabric conditioner. I spray the clothes lightly with it and they smell nearly as nice as using it in the wash!

I was using an Asda surface cleaner bottle for a mixture of bleach and water and it was fine until it broke.

Zukiecat - I thought I was the only person who did that!

I'm using a flash bottle that I bought almost 2 yeas ago when I moved in to my new house. I fill it with white vinigar, water and teetree oil. It's great for surfaces.

I've also got one on the go that I nabbed from my mums which has baking soda and water and lemon oil in to use on DD's bed - she's a bedwetter and I give the mattress a good spray and airing every now and then to stop it getting smelly. It's also a good mixture for mildew :)
