I bought some presents for my friends son he is 8yrs old. The presents have been sitting in my flat since before Xmas, I have asked his mum to come and collect them but she makes excuses. The latest is that his dad is having him this weekend so she can't come then.

WWYD?
I cannot keep them forever...

Why have you not taken them round?

Dropdeadfred · 09/02/2011 16:21

is there a reason you can't/havent taken them to him?

Pixieonthemoor · 09/02/2011 16:21

Or put them in the post?

Tee2072 · 09/02/2011 16:22

I understand there is a new fangled thing called Royal Mail. Have you tried it?

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/02/2011 16:23

there are too many for me to carry or post.

do it a few at a time?

AMumInScotland · 09/02/2011 16:26

I'm guessing there's a lot more to this than presents? How come you have many presents for a child you haven't seen since Christmas? Has there been a change in your relationship with this friend? Is she trying to say you shouldn't have got him so much? Or just that she's not that fond of you?

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/02/2011 16:29

AMIS, nothing has changed we have spoken most days with her calling me etc and emailing. But when it comes to the presents she clams up about them.

We have known eachother practically all our lives since we were in infant school

Send it by courier. It isnt expensive and they will collect.

AMumInScotland · 09/02/2011 16:33

How strange! Oh well, if you take them round, hopefully that'll be an end of it, whatever her issue is!

Dropdeadfred · 09/02/2011 16:34

be more direct - ask her if there is a problem regarding the presents..? perhaps she feels guilty about you buying him so much

compo · 09/02/2011 16:35

It sounds like she's either too busy or she's avoiding you
or she didn't buy your kids any Xmas presents and she feels bad?

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/02/2011 16:36

I got a reply and have an answer as to what prob is

she feels guilty not buying my 2 anything....told her it not a prob. now waiting for reply.

Yes her coming round empty handed would make your boys feel bad
cross them off the list for next year!

AMumInScotland · 09/02/2011 16:48

Ah, that makes sense. Maaybe decide next year if you're doing presents for each others DC or not, to avoid awkwardness.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/02/2011 19:52

I certainly will AMIS
