... my school recently had an ofsted inspection. I do know the grading as I work there, but not official yet as it takes a couple of weeks and we are not allowed to say. I live locally to my school and am involved with book club etc. I have just had three inbox messages saying "Do you know the grade". Well, yes, I do, but I'm not allowed to say. I wrote back to all three "I have been told it will be online in about three days". One of the friends wrote back "I thought you were my friend - surely you can tell me? I never thought you were a jobsworth!!"

AIBU to be p*ssed off with this response?

I am whittling at a worry late at night again!

YANBU - it's unfair of your friend to pressurize you to reveal confidential information.

Especially as giving her the information ahead of general release will be of absolutely no benefit at all to her, except for showing-off during playground gossiping, while leaving you at risk of being disciplined.

LaWeaselMys · 09/02/2011 01:14

You are right. But OTOH, everyone always finds out before the 3 days are up don't they?

Slightlyreluctantexpat · 09/02/2011 01:16

Exactly what piprabbit says. YANBU

Catnao · 09/02/2011 01:18

If I told her, the grade could actually be changed due to lack of confidentiality before it is official - the party line is "we are pleased". Glad I'm not being unreasonable so far, I felt quite stressed by her response.

Really? Definitely don't feel bad for not telling then!

I doubt she knows that either.

Catnao · 09/02/2011 01:26

No maybe she doesn't but I felt a bit awkward. Not keen to lose my job or jeopardise the school's Ofsted report though! I'm not a jobsworth type, honest! Grin

I don't suppose that it was just her feeble attempt at some rather clunky humour?

Catnao · 09/02/2011 01:31

Maybe... I know that all parents want to know - I am a parent too, so I get it...just feels unfair to be questioned again when I really can't say.

And surely "We are pleased" tells them what they want to know, really?! Wink

Although it does make you sound a little like our own dear queen Grin.

Catnao · 09/02/2011 01:47

Good. I expect bows and curtesys and to marry the available one asap.

That was a joke, although I'll happily marry Harry any time he asks...
