..to have accused DH of being a negligent plague-carrier, and told him that he is dealing with every single GP appointment and laundry load related to the tricking decking impetigo

And breathe...

Can I have guidance to calibrate my rage, please?

we had a bad BAD impetigo outbreak six weeks ago. Lots of work, lots of abs and laundry, half a dozen GP visits, it went through every member of th family, but we cleared it.....

...... Apart from a little sore on DHs nose. did I chase him, around with the antibiotic tube? Did I face down his sceptisim when the partially treated impetigo recurred? Again and again? Did I... Did I...Did I.... Argh - feck it - anyone would think that I wanted another CHILD cos if he had been a CHILD he would have been in a headlock three times a day for the FULL COURSE getting the cream applied but since he was not a CHILD he was left to LOOK AFTER his OWN FECKING DISEASED NOSE.

And now DD has a horrible big patch of what can be nothing else other that impetigo on top of her leg.

He's already agreed to get her from school during th day and take her to GP ..... But I get the distinct sense he is starting to take offence at my tone of voice....

AIBU?

and breathe.....

Dd had this not long ago. I'd kill him and bury him under the patio.

I feel your rage.

YANBU. He is not a child, he has a responsibility not to spread infections around his home by being a slacker and failing to apply his cream. Does he think he's special or something?
Tell him superheros get virulent skin rashes too and if he doesn't treat it then it could spread to his manhood and he'll get weeping sores which have to be treated or you will never touch him again.

That should get his attention.

What radiohelen said Grin

YANBU to want to throttle DH.

YWBU to send your daughter to school with impetigo (unless it's scabbed over and dried) and put all her classmate's families through the same hellish process.

gingernutlover · 08/02/2011 20:10

yes, please dont send her to school with it, at least get the antibiotics from the gp first - I'm sure you know this from the last time though?

SylvanianFamily · 08/02/2011 22:01

Fair point about contagion - actually DH says he's cleared it with his boss to only come to work after docs, so he'll keep her with him anyway.

I didn't think about it because the sore is in a place that is completely covered in clothes/can't be easily scratched or touched. Are the quarantine rules the same in that case? Our original outbreak actually was mainly the boys on their legs - so tights and bandages kept it all protected without too much drama.

What about when she gets changed for P.E? Goes to the toilet? Poor you. Sympathy from here. Don't think they are allowed into our school if they have impetigo.
