They were "Light Choice" one whatever the fuck that means.
Anyone else gorge on them like a nice hot cross bun or 5 when Spring has sprung?

Do you all prefer yours toasted (ie hotGrin) or untoasted? I like mine untoasted...so er cold cross bunsConfused

BuzzLightBeer · 07/02/2011 14:51

Always toasted, so you get the melty butter soaking in.....

Always toasted here too. Oh and I agree on the "morning goods" ishoos. I could happily live off crumpets, hot cross buns, pikelets (although I haven't seen one for years either), muffins, toast etc... All with lashings of butter. Mmmm.

Yummy!!!!!

mutznutz · 08/02/2011 09:59

God no I couldn't eat 4 lol!!

FindingStuffToChuckOut · 08/02/2011 10:03

Just had TWO M&S full fat toasted HCB's for breakfast - with butter. Delicious!

marriednotdead · 08/02/2011 10:29

I have bought 16 HCB since Thursday. I have probably eaten 3 before the rest of the gannets finished them.

In answer to your upthread question, all calories are cancelled if consumed with a large glass of Diet Coke. Surely everyone knows that? Grin

Bastards.
There are 4 hot x buns in my kitchen.
Calling my name.
I blame you lot. Wink

SenoritaViva · 08/02/2011 10:48

YABVVVU, but only because you didn't share them with me. But then we would have needed 8.

Buzz, on a more serious note, you may be addicted to carbs, as I am.

The carbs (especially white ones, iyswim, cause an insulin spike (which makes much of the glucose released be turned to fat and stored), and then your blood sugar is low (because the glucose has gone from your blood) and you are hungry again.

You can make this less bad by trying to balance carbs with protein - have smoked salmon on your bagel, for eg.

Or bacon on your HCB ??

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me! (But then I'd eat all six in the packet and not bat an eyelid! Grin)

kreecherlivesupstairs · 08/02/2011 10:59

I am really jealous, like Mme Lindt we don't get HCBs. I have found some scones and crumpets in our local supermarket.
DD and I made what were supposed to be cornmeal muffins on Friday. They were so wet that I intend to try again without her useless with measuring-- input.

sparkle1977 · 08/02/2011 11:40

wow thats going some!!!

i also buy the "light choice" ones from Tesco, I think they are in fact nicer and softer than the standard ones.

Love hot cross buns with loads of proper butter!

Bubandbump · 08/02/2011 11:55

I am pregnant and currently have a craving for them - what better excuse? But I don't have them with any butter on so that's ok right.

Geocentric · 08/02/2011 12:00

YABVVVVVU. I can't buy them here. And now I want one. Envy
