to think the bloody tooth fairy should do her job...

Okay - so I am wracked with guilt.

Dd lost her first tooth yesterday while at school. She came home with it carefully wrapped up in an envelope and we found a box to put it in and left it under her pillow.

She awoke this morning, checked the box and the tooth was still there! Yes ok so I forgot. I remember thinking about it, but then ds1 (aged 12!) decided he wanted a cuddle in bed and I fell asleep with him - woke up feeling awful and went straight to bed. Forgot all about the bloody tooth! The worst thing was that dd checked the box this morning and never said a word. She obviously felt guilty that her tooth wasn't good enough or something.

When I eventually remembered, I fobbed dd off with the excuse that the tooth fairy was very busy and must have run out of time.

Feel like the worst mum in the world. (The tooth fairy has never forgotten the boys' teeth.)

My friend's DS lost a tooth and put it under his pillow. That night he had an enormous nosebleed, the next morning he was blaming the toothfairy for hitting him in the face!

We never had a Toothfairy, we sold our teeth to my mum, she still has them all.

The tooth fairy once left DD a note saying she was sorry about all the change but she was a bit pushed for pound coins.

Is that still the going rate BTW?

I have written very very very small letters of apology from the tooth fairy say sorry she was very busy and 20p

(its all she can carry Smile )

I lost my first tooth on Halloween. My parents went to a Halloween party that night and somewhat predictably the tooth fairy didn't turn up.

My mother told me that there had been far too many witches and monsters around for the tooth fairy to venture out that night. It has scarred me for life.

AThis al makes me feel a lot better! The Toth Fairy didnt come on Thurs evening for the first time ever. DD (nearly 9) had lost the tooth late on Wed night - far too late for the fairy (I believe no change available). Tooth was placed in velvet bag and under pillow on Thurs - then 7am when DS and I were downstairs a sad DD arrived (far earlier than normal) with still a tooth. Wel lit had been really windy that evening - blowing fences around - far too breezy for a tooth fairy to be out and about with her teeny tiny wings - fortunately she came the following night - very early!
