To be quite sad and disappointed?

Basically, last May/June, I was asked by a friend, if I wanted to go away with her to France THIS July. I said yeah, it'd be a laugh and I've not been abroad in about 4 years. Today I get a message saying that the people we'd be staying with, are doing some renovation work and it'll be a bit messy when we were due to go out.

So my mate is saying she's going out on her own this year and she'll take me next year.

Now, I'm not angry with her, and tbh it might be a good thing as I finish uni in May so don't know if I'd be working or where I'd be living etc.

But I am disappointed, we've been talking about this for months and to have this bombshell dropped on me has completely burst my bubble :(

Ah well, I'm off away for a weekend in April and possibly going to a music festival, so I have stuff to look foward to still.

Its a shame it hasnt worked out, you must be feeling disappointed. But at least it didnt all fall through at the last minute, maybe now you can organise something different for later in the year.

Well, this is true january. I do have a little plan tucked away for the weekend after my graduation ceremony, so will focus on making that awesome :)

If it's just because they're renovating, could you stay somewhere closeby?

If she's saying it because she doesn't want you to go, she'll be making up some other excuse when you mention you can still go.

Now that sounds very exciting Lollipop... And also congratulations on your graduation!
