Is my DP being unreasonable when he say's that most 'school run' mum's wouldn't have a clue how to extract themselves using the four wheel drive facility on their Chelsie tractors, should the need arise? If he is indeed correct, then why spend silly amounts on vehicles with this facility?

Well my DH used to have a fck off huge Chevy Suburban (was only thing big enough to get us all in plus he could get all his tools in it).
I COULD NOT park that thing infact could barely back it up Blush. He used to tease me about abandoning in the driveway cos whatever way i got it in there it stayed :o. It was not my car though.
Dh could get that thing into a space I wouldnt have tried to get my wee subaru in and he could work the 4 wheel drive thing.
Got rid of the Suburban as we no longer needed anything as fck off huge ( kids wont be seen dead out with us now so no longer need a truck big enough to get them all in).He got another SUV though but a smaller way more fuel efficient one ( Toyota FJ cruiser ) cos we need something awesome in the snow.

I luuuuuuurve my 4wd, it is fucking fantastic.

We do all sorts of fun stuff with it. In fact I said to DH we are like a friggen ad for 4wds.

Don't need the 4wd that often for the running about I do, but I can turn it off and just use it as a front wheel drive.

4wd very handy for harder driving conditions though.

Not at all sorry and am very glad I have one again after 5 years of being car less.

SweetGilly "some of my best friends are Women" good try

Hi Alouiseg

Not sure where all your anger is coming from. First you give me marks out of ten for my 'poor wording', then you reply with the silly remarks above. I am new to this site so forgive me.

We have a 4x4 which is far more economical (and environmentally friendly if that's your concern) than our old VW hatchback.

Yes, I can and have used 4WD to get out of bother.

As with other posters, we have driven around grateful friends and relatives who couldn't get about in the snow and ice.

It's no longer or wider than an estate car or an MPV.

So the problem is...?

It's very dull that people jump onto this bandwagon so consistently, especially when they do so without good reasons.

Chelsie?

HAHAHA that has made my fucking day. Not only knock a group of people you have never met but get it so the fuck wrong. Brilliant.
