they're allowed to type "bitch"

nickelthenaughtybutnicefairy · 01/02/2011 12:35

this one's a cute answer thouhg
"Well your MIL is nicely ruling herself out as someone who can spend playtime with your LO. She's a silly billy, not necessarily a bitch but more like a childish, immature silly billy."

[boak]

AbsDuCroissant · 01/02/2011 12:39

Fnar - imagine if someone came out with that on an MN MIL AIBU. I don't think I've ever seen anyone referred to as a "silly billy" on MN, particularly not in the middle of a MIL ruckus

However, in future, I think I will use silly billy more. Will lighten up threads I tells ya

KnackeredCow · 01/02/2011 12:40

I'm always suspicious of websites that are a member of a large medical devices / pharmaceutical corporation.

I believe BabyCenter LLC is part of the Johnson & Johnson corporation.

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/02/2011 13:03

Can you imagine someone calling a MIl a silly billy on mumsnet?

The whole of mumsnet (including Justine) would round on her and educated her on what real insukts sound like Grin

You sily billy that can't be right.

AbsDuCroissant · 01/02/2011 13:10

I am totally going to try and call someone a silly billy on a thread today.

jessiealbright · 01/02/2011 13:10

Will it be more mumsnetty if I modify it, emphatic tmesis style? Perhaps with an, erm, colloquial anatomical term?

SuperTheoryofSuperEverything · 01/02/2011 13:11

Me too Abs!

I know the person who started the BC AIBU. And the WYOO and I used to be a moderator.(only for the Only Children though)

I'm on a 12 step recuperation programme.

The tales I could tell. Grin

GloriaSmut · 01/02/2011 13:12

Jealous? Don't be an utterly Silly Billy, strandedpolarbear - and do get a grip on your apostrophes.

bibbitybobbityhat · 01/02/2011 13:13

Silly billy is one of my fave. sayings. I often say it to posters on Mumsnet who are being ... well ... silly.

I save fuck off for extreme emergencies, so that it has more impact Grin.

Haha - imagine "I think your husband was a right silly billy to get caught with his winky in another girls front bum - how awful for you! Grin

GloriaSmut · 01/02/2011 13:24

Permit me me a slight amendment:

"I think your husband was a right silly billy to get caught with his winky in another girls front bum - how devistating for you!"

bibbitybobbityhat · 01/02/2011 13:25

"I think your husband was a right silly billy to get caught with his winky in another girls front bum - how devistating for you! Are you sat there crying?"

yogididabooboo · 01/02/2011 13:59

Shock WTF? an actual adult uses teh term "silly Billy"

Anyone that has used that site should be banned from here. they clearly aren't stable

nickelthenaughtybutnicefairy · 01/02/2011 14:01

I am going to use silly billy a lot more now - might stop me randomly swearing at the choirboy (yes, i did call him a prat the other week by mistake - he thought it was brilliant)

Rafi · 01/02/2011 14:06

So if you're not allowed to mention other websites, then it would be illegal to go on & mention if they're going to copy AIBU from Mumsnet it would be nice to say thank you for the idea?

Bucharest · 01/02/2011 14:12

You can talk about other websites, you just have to say m u m s n e t so it skips their filter.

You aren't allowed to say the words Catherine, Teenage and Witch in the same sentence either. They put that into their norty filter too.

AbsDuCroissant · 01/02/2011 14:21

Who's Catherine the teenage witch? come on Bucharest - SPILL

houseworkwhore · 01/02/2011 14:24

2 words ladies.....

NET MUMS

Bucharest · 01/02/2011 15:52

CTW (which got past the norty filter) is/was the "Community Manager".

She was all right actually. Once we'd domesticated her.

juneybean · 01/02/2011 15:54

I use silly billy a lot but I work with children lol
