To think that people with pushchairs still have to follow road safety rules

Was really shaken today. Went to a garage in the morning. Its location is a bit awkward, when you leave it you sort of drive out straight into a main road traffic. I was looking to the right as most traffic was coming from there and let the car to creep forward. Suddenly I noticed a woman with a pushchair crossing the road just in front of me. I did not notice her approaching from the left as there is no pedestrian crossing there anyway so was not expecting that at all. I scared her a bit, but opened the window and apologised several times. She just shouted at me in front of the kids ?f*k off stupid c**t?. Well I am sorry, but am I being unreasonable to think that a baby in pushchair does not automatically means you can cross anywhere you please, without at least making sure the driver noticed you and stopped to let you through. Grr! Why some people think that if they got a baby they deserve a special treatment?

I find this with shops and pavements - I shuffle along with my stick......and am still expected to jump smartly out of the way with the "I've got a pushchair so I've got right of way" brigade!

What is really annoying is that they stand there with a bumscat mouth while I try to move!

You probably shouldn't have let the car start creeping if you hadn't checked both ways tbh, but YANBU that having a pushchair does not mean you own the pavement and road. Absolutely NU.

Oh sorry to hear it Lady. I got a pushchair myself, but dont expect a special treatment. I remember once waiting to buy an ice cream with DS1 and another lady just barged in in the middle of my order and started ordering herself, because she was with a pushchair and somehow it made her more important than me.

I know I was wrong too sparkle, I oppologised too, but when I cross the road in front of a moving car, in a place without a crossing, I try to make an eye contact with the driver first, to make sure he/she noticed me and stopped to let me cross.
