well you wouldn't be unreasonable

but he's selling it as an antique so may well scoff

FabbyChic · 31/01/2011 18:06

He is a TRS I doubt he has his price wrong for him. You have no way of knowing what he paid for it. Im sure it wasn't a score though.

NancyDrewHasaClue · 31/01/2011 18:08

Crikey! Victorian pine furniture should go for a fraction of that.

Someone is chancing his arm.

Seriously.

LaurieFairyonthetreeEatsCake · 31/01/2011 18:09

I've got loads of antique pine furniture - it's still usually really cheap - even in the fancy schmancy pine shop in Berkhamsted it would still be under £200

wossa TRS?

NancyDrewHasaClue · 31/01/2011 18:22

Exactly laurie

We have a very good auctioneers near us who do a quaterly antique auction. Lots of this sort of stuff and would go for a lot closer to £20 than that asking price.

C0FFEE · 31/01/2011 18:22

I get it all the time, advertise something for £150 and et offers of £5.

you never know

sixlostmonkeys · 31/01/2011 18:31

looking at the prices he gets for his items I reckon it is highly unlikely he will accept £20 :)
He seems to know what he is doing.

I would say he is chancing his luck with that piece. His other stuff seems fairly accurately priced, but that is just ridiculous.

I doubt it is a typo, I think he is just hoping some mug falls for it.

I have seen stuff like that thrown in a skip, and smashed up after it hasnt sold at the auction rooms.

The furniture market is dire at the moment. I have antiques of my mums that are filling up two rooms at my MIL's and there is hardly anyone buying now unless it is a highly unique piece.

It's a dynamic page, cumfy, if you leave it without clicking it gradually searches then comes up with the final answer.
