She is nearly 7. Tonight I said she needed to go in the bath or shower, so she took herself upstairs and after I supervised hairwashing, she said she was fine, thanks, I could go back downstairs. She came back down in her pjs, had a game with us, then disappeared off again.
When I went searching, she has brushed her teeth and tucked herself up with a book. I feel a bit redundant in Mummy terms! 
Is this how it works? Is this the big count down to the door slamming/I hate you years?
I wasn't expecting all this yet!
