Stop shoving so much food in your gob.

Sorry.

TattyDevine · 29/01/2011 23:13

No amount of walking or breastfeeding will see you weigh less if you are eating too much, would be a kinder way to say it Grin

And dont put yourself under so much pressure!

aneta1302 · 29/01/2011 23:14

is not a diet im eatin often but small meals

Oh charming Tatty Angry

mutznutz · 29/01/2011 23:15

Walking is healthy but really not the best exercise for losing weight.

Something more vigorous is needed...when you've recovered and can muster up the energy.

cornsilk · 29/01/2011 23:16

Write everything you eat and drink in a diary and I mean everything, even if it's just a mouthful. That way you can see just how much you are eating. People sometimes eat more than they realise.

GreenEyesandHam · 29/01/2011 23:17

Put the baby down, before you step on the scales.

Seriously, too early- see where you are in a month or two

cerealqueen · 29/01/2011 23:19

Don't worry about it - far too early. I felt the same then a few months later it started to drop off. Enjoy your baby!

wishthingsweresimple · 29/01/2011 23:19

I breastfed and lost a stone in the first week. Then it crept up whilst I EBF for the first 6 months. DS dropped feeds from 7mo onwards and the weight started to go again. I stubbornly held onto some, but the last 1/2 stone is currently coming off now I have given up bfing entirely.

Don't worry about it if you are bfing. Eat lots and lots of cake. Some women my mum get as thin as anything when bfing, some me hold onto the weight as emergency rations. Feed your baby first.

wishthingsweresimple · 29/01/2011 23:20

And yes, you will see a 10 again. I was a 12-14 after giving birth, now firmly in a 10.

babylann · 29/01/2011 23:23

To effectively lose weight through exercise, you have to do a varied amount of different things like cardio and stability etc. But you have been pregnant for a long time and are still recovering from having a baby, so you have to take your time and ease into it slowly, start with things like yoga and swimming and then up it to treadmills or fitness dvds and aerobics classes.

I don't know if walking is the best way to tone a stomach, I'm pretty sure sit ups and push ups would be much better for that, and other stretches which involve tensing of the stomach muscles.

cornsilk · 29/01/2011 23:24

OP everyone is different when it comes to losing the babyweight. 2 months is very early to be back to the same size I think! It took me 6 months with both my ds's to get back to my pre-pregnancy size.

mutznutz · 29/01/2011 23:24

If it's a case of jelly belly, you probably just need to tone up.

2 months isn't a bad time to start gentle sit-ups and work up slowly to a more vigorous routine....providing you had a straightforward natural birth.

Chill...it's not like you've gained a mental amount of weight Grin

LadyBiscuit · 29/01/2011 23:25

I lost my baby weight through walking an hour or so every day (with the pram) within six months. It will come off - you've only just given birth! Be a bit kinder to yourself :)

aneta1302 · 29/01/2011 23:26

thanx ladys!

My baby is 16 months and I still can't get in my pre pregnancy clothes (blush)

2rebecca · 29/01/2011 23:36

I went to a leisure centre gym that had a creche. Agree reduced food intake and more, more strenuous exercise will work eventually. Exercise with a small sprog is hard without a creche or babysitter. Running with a 3 wheeler can also work, although I found running and breastfeeding didn't work and I lost more weight when I stopped breastfeeding and could run properly again. Circuits at the leisure centre and aerobics classes fine until then, and kids loved the creche.

FabbyChic · 29/01/2011 23:46

You have to eat less in order to lose weight, getting rid of your jelly belly is exercise.
