You have no problem eating a cow or a pig but god forbid if someone stuck a plate of rabbit or dog in front of you.

meat is meat, you wanna eat it don't be racist about what animal it comes from or screamish about the processes involved in it's production.

ooooh mirage, you;re back!

NorthernGobshite · 30/01/2011 14:10

Am I being unreasonable then to be irritated when vegetarians don't eat EVERY SINGLE kind of vegetable??? Ridiculous post OP. Just ridiculous.

MissyMorrison87 · 30/01/2011 19:38

Am i the only one who seems to think this OP has posted various threads along this sort of running theme under a few different names??

Or did the first one just start a trend or something? Confused

Bumperrlicious · 30/01/2011 19:50

Now I love chocolate, I love Lindt and Galaxy but not Cadbury's and definitely not that cheap kinnerton stuff. Is that ok op? Because, y'know they taste different.

GrimmaTheNome · 30/01/2011 19:54

I like rabbit pie.

DH says he thinks he ate cat in Manchuria once.

Dogs - well, I think I'd feel a bit like Puddleglum in the Silver Chair when he found he'd been served talking stag. Maybe it's anthropomorphising too far but I don't eat the family of my friends ... and anyway, have you ever seen what dogs will eat? Ew.

fluffles · 30/01/2011 19:59

i happily eat rabbit and venison, and i actually prefer to eat wild animals (such as pheasant and home-caught fish) than farmed animals.

there's no animal i wouldn't eat out of principle, or because they're 'cute'.. but there are animals i don't think will be very nice.

GrimmaTheNome · 30/01/2011 21:05

Somehow doesn't seem quite right that someone with such wide carnivourous tastes should go under the name of 'Fluffles' Grin

5inthebed · 30/01/2011 21:22

We had a pig years ago that we were going to slaughter for meat. When it came to it we didn;t have the heart. So we just chopped one of it's legs out and gave it a wooden leg Grin. Can't remember what comedien said that, possibly Bobby Thompson, but always makes me chuckle.

I eat meat, pork, chicken, turkey and only certain cuts of beef. Hate lamb and rabbit. I've had crocodile before, not too keen on it and love seafood.

A1980 · 30/01/2011 21:26

YABVVVU

Are you too stupid to be aware that not all meat tastes the same.

You bet there are certain meats I wont eat. I don't like the taste of some certain meats, lamb being one of them.

I trust every vegetarian adores and eats EVERY type of fruit, vegetable, tofu, nut, cheese, etc etc that is available. Lets apply that ridiculous logic to vegetarians shall we?

Confused
choccyp1g · 30/01/2011 22:36

I used to think that the norm was to only eat herbivores, but have since discovered that free-range chickens will eat "meat", such as insects, worms and snails. Ducks eat frogs and fish. Most of the fish we eat are at the top of the sea-food chain. So why not dogs? I can't fancy dog because they are intelligent, but pigs are at least as clever. Maybe it's because dog-poo smells so bad.

Ryoko · 30/01/2011 23:44

It's not about taste it's about refusing to eat meat because of what animal it came from.

I'd eat anything, and the pet argument is rubbish, I've had quails, rats, gerbils, mice and hamsters as pets, I wouldn't mind eating any of them if someone dumped a plate of rat on a stick in front of me I'd have no problem eating it.

And I never change my name.

I eat meat but I usually pick the veggie option. Especially at Nandos. Their beanie pittas and halloumi mushroom pittas are amazing.

I don't know why I do it. I do eat meat but I'd pick veggie over it every time if I was given the choice. Love veggie takeaways! Confused
