He's feeling much better from his chest infection and he has taken against taking medicene so much that its an almost impossible struggle. It distresses him and upsets me to see him so worked up. He was first prescribed antibiotics on wednesday and that gave him diarrhea so was prescribed some more yesterday. Has resisted taking both. Would always finish the course I know that I should and it could come back otherwise etc but he does seem better and its just an impossible fight. So tempted to just stop aibu?

I really think you should finish the course. I stopped DD's antiobiotics early last year (on the advice of the GP!!?) because it was so awful trying to get them into her. She just got ill again straight away and ended up having to have a month's worth. I can recommend nutella as a good way of disguising it (not recommended by dentists though). Good luck.

I have to pin my 10mth ds down to administer antibiotics. He has recently been i hospital for a week for pneumonia brought on by swine flu. Trust me, better orally than IV.

Yabu, he needs to finish the course to completely kill off all the bugs. If there are only a few left, they can deveop resistance which means he might not be able to fight off later infections. please persevere.

It's not ideal, but according to my GP's once wont hurt.

My LO practically had dysentry from Amoxycillin recentry giving terrible nappy rash. Her original (skin) condition was getting better anyway so doc said don't worry.
