I could not get an appointment.
I was told to take a urine sample down and the nurse would testit.
She did and asked lots of questions, then said she was worried about the high level of blood present. The doctor would call me very soon to say what I needed to do.
Hmm still waiting, and worried as she said it was not an infection.

I would ring up to find out why nobody has rung, although doc may be waiting till the end of morning surgery.

It can take hours, some times, as the GP usually has to get through either morning or afternoon surgery. And then the GP probably has a lot of phone calls to make. If it were really urgent, they would prioritise you. If you need to go somewhere, ring them and give them your mobile number.

I will ,just a bit Angry
Surgery finished at 10am, and she said she would get him after next patient came out,as she was concerned.
I will try and assume its nothing and not panic. Her face did not look reassuring though IYSWIM

Been down to the GP's, they said oh did we phone Hmm , no!
I have AB's to take although no explanation as to what for. Sample has been sent off and have to ring Monday for result and /or appointment.
I always thought you should not take AB's without good reason, but now I'm to worried not to even though my sample showed no sign of infection.

Maybe you have some kind of stone making you bleed and they have given you AB's to prevent a secondary infection. Don't worry - you would have been sent to the hospital if the gp was worried.

herdingcats · 28/01/2011 13:26

JC29- thanks for that .
Do you happen to know how sending the blood off would confirm that ?

OP posts:

I suspect they are sending off the blood to rule out a bad infection. I think they can sometimes see sediment in the urine which may indicate a stone(s). If they don't find anything I would imagine a scan would be next or blood tests. Are you in pain at all?

herdingcats · 28/01/2011 13:52

Some lower abdominal pain ,but very one sided and not enough to warrant meds.
BTW ,one of the things the nurse asked was I having a period ,not possible as I had an early menopause.
The plot thickens.
