Depends on your natural hair colour and what colour you put on...

AuntiePickleBottom · 28/01/2011 00:39

i am blonde naturally but put a brown hair dye on, so its a mixture of blonde and brown...but very patchy

There is a product called colour b4 and it will take the dye and apparently it does not harm the hair , look it up on the net it has very good reviews, other than that head and shoulders fades colour quite well , if it's a permanent colour wait four weeks til you colour it again because permanent colours are harsh on hair . What colour is it ?

AuntiePickleBottom · 28/01/2011 00:46

medium brown

I personally would go to hairdressers to get hair stripped back professionly/Hi-lites.
Wouldn't put another home dye on it otherwise it will be an array of colours & patchy.

sugared · 28/01/2011 00:51

As Mrswhiskerson say's Head & shoulders is very good

MrsCrafty · 28/01/2011 00:56

Gel and scrape back for tomorrows visit for school.

Then quickly get thee to a hairdressers.

You can strip back the colour using a peroxide but by the time you source a good one and then get a colour, you might as well pay the hairdresser.

just thank god it is cold and i can put my hood up to keep warm :p

I'd just buy the same dye again and do it properly, making sure you cover every single hair.

It'll be fine, honestly!

sugared · 28/01/2011 01:00

....or go to the hairdresserWink

Hairyjumper · 28/01/2011 01:07

today

What colour are you dying over?

If you're light blonde or a red based colour you'll need to add some blue tones before a brown will work. If it's bleached or over processed it just won't take evenly.

It's probably just best to go to a professional to sort it, unless you're prepared to do it in a few stages and put up with it looking bit odd in between.

The time that I turned my hair Ronald MacDonald orange, I just dyed straight over it! And damn glad I was too!
