If I have to watch Sam,the Weirdo Next door one more time I am going to kill someone! Please tell me I am not alone. A few weeks short of 40, 24 wks up the duff, exhausted, aching, hormonal. Can't stand any more of Dilys, Trevor et al. Which DVDs have you wanting to run screaming?

LOL my son is 17, I thought I had left such things behind, but just ready Pontypandy in the headline and it brought Fireman Sam all crashing back ha ha.

strawberrie · 27/01/2011 20:27

My DD got a box set of the 'new' Fireman Sam for Christmas - I think it's a very poor imitation of the old stop go animation!

For a start I was very disappointed to see that Dilys no longer wears a pinny and curlers, and doesn't heave her bosoms in the style of Les Dawson.

Also what has happened to the sexual chemistry between Trevor and Dilys, and her love rivalry with Bella Lasagne?

Bring back the original I say!

We regularly have arguments between DS who want fireman sam and DD1 who wants peppa pig. Never mind that they both know the words to every single fireman sam episode and most peppa pig ones they still want to watch them.

Why does cartoonito have to show an hour of fireman sam, an hour of something else then another hour of fireman sam with the same episodes as the first hour?

And surely Elvis is too intellectually challenged to be a firefighter.

crisptart · 27/01/2011 21:00

YANBU, I know exactly how you feel. I'm the same with Peppa Bloody Pig. If I have to watch the Peppa Pig Christmas Grotto (or whatever the hell it's called)one more time I'm going to scream until I'm sick. Grin

mummytowillow · 27/01/2011 21:03

I feel your pain, I've watched 'Barbie in the Nutcracker' twice a day for the last week, its sooooo painful!! Wink

RantyMcRantpants · 27/01/2011 21:07

Oh! God! I bloody hate Fireman frikkin' Sam.

I am on my 3rd child being obsessed with FS and it is doing my head in.

And don't get me started on the changes. Those high pitched, squeaky voices aaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!

Hardandsleazy · 27/01/2011 21:12

The wot wots- I am not keen on being referred to as dotty wot. Quite how daft special oso is never ceases to amaze me.

LJBanana · 27/01/2011 21:17

The Elvis and crash test dummy thing happens on 2 seperate occasions I think, on one he puts a wig on it on the other au naturel- perv!

And he's not that challenged, he does remember about the 'jaws of life' when they ring 999 when the menace gets his shoe stuck-a clear emergency that warrants the sea dingy thing, fast response vehicle and fire engine. Rates, rates, rates.
And as for Penny snorkeling to rescue someone then standing up and walking out in 3 cm of water, what a waste of resources.

Ok its official I am ready to have this baby so I can actually stop this ridiculous hormonal over analysation of a fictional childrens program.

DS received some Barney DVD's for Christmas from my mum.
I have told her they have to stay at her house. Grin I can cope with Peppa and The Wiggles even Numberjacks with their terrible live action acting and that guy in the white coat who freaks me out, but I absolutely detest that purple dinosaur.

BornToFolk · 27/01/2011 21:20

I told DS that Barney is broken. We have a DVD with several episodes of different programmes on, including Bob and Fireman Sam so I don't really want to throw the whole thing out but I cannot watch bastarding bloody Barney any more.

DrSeuss · 27/01/2011 21:27

I suppose that for our parents the irritation was confined to a hour or so of telly. And I would rather watch Mr Benn, Bagpuss or The Clangers any day.

Eldest DS is 23 now and the first video he ever got was Fireman Sam for his 2nd birthday from his Aunty. He loved it!
DS2 (now 19) used to be absolutely terrified of Postman Pats foggy day and Pingu and the Ice Cave and used to go hysterical when the video got to that part or eldest brother put it on just to tease him!

pongonperdy · 27/01/2011 22:26

NORMAN PRICE!!!

wannabesybil · 28/01/2011 00:21

OH's neice had a thing about a pop group. When she was thirteen. She watched their dvd twice before bringing it to our house to watch twice again. I can cope with Fireman Sam a lot easier. I dread to think what my 'mommy's little angel' will be watching at thirteen!

Norman is definitely Sam's.
