Does being posh and being from Essex make you a weird mixture of posh/chav? I think that's what I am.

onceamai · 27/01/2011 22:31

You can only be posh if you hang etchings by famous artists in the downstairs bog Wink.

manicbmc · 27/01/2011 22:35

My dd was going to do a relief painting of Father Jack in the lav. Does that make me posh? Grin

Ask my SIL. She has not really acknowleged me for five years - I am Hampshire and she is Essex - her smile has not once met her eyes when she looks at me. Her wedding cost fecking thousands Envy not quite Winchester though dahling.......

I am such a bitch......

My wedding was a cheap do Smile

alfonzo · 27/01/2011 22:47

that definitely is being posh and Essex. My wedding also cheap a do. But I do own a gravy boat, and a fruit bowl. And also some white stilettos Smile

manicbmc · 27/01/2011 22:53

I don't have a gravy boat! feels left out and chavvy

Candleshoe · 27/01/2011 23:12

I have a collection of antique gravy boats hanging from my antique Welsh dresser. but I also have a 70s dralon 3rd hand three piece suite

manicbmc · 27/01/2011 23:13

My sofa is lovely and leather.... and was £70 from the British Heart Foundation Grin

I noticed I'd buggered up my P.O.S. B H. post but hoped you wouldn't Blush

I do have a gardener and MIL's gravy boat Grin

Slightly · 28/01/2011 01:55

oh FFS.

GotArt · 28/01/2011 06:41

I have no need for a gravy boat; my husband's a Chef and my food is always plated. Grin

I have been told I'm posh by friends because I have a Bialetti for my espresso instead of one of those extreme espresso machines. Makes me laugh though cause mine cost me $60 CAD and theirs is $350+. Hmm I'm also posh cause I DON"T have a microwave.

I do have a complete set of artisan Illy espresso cups.

I use swear words too much though so I'm thinking that cancels out any perceived poshness.

sakura · 28/01/2011 07:14

ha UKcanuck ! I'm not posh but I'm foreign so no-one can tell Grin
