Not when husband is also off......

kreecherlivesupstairs · 25/01/2011 11:19

YABU, luckily DD is pretty healthy.

Clothilde · 25/01/2011 11:31

YABU. I was going to go to the supermarket today while DD was at preschool, so we have virtually no food in the house. DD was in need of a mummy all last night, so I haven't evenmanaged to do the washing up from last night's dinner. The baby is healthy is and keeps trying to climb on things and pull DD;s hair which makes her shriek and cry as all she wants to do is cuddle me, and I have to keep putting her down in order to stop him from climbing the bookshelves/ turning off Octonauts/ eating his own poo.

This is going to go well. Hmm

What a stupid thing to say, I'll tell my friend how lucky she is to have her daughter at home sick after suffering with cancer!

Feenie · 25/01/2011 11:46

I am on my fourth day of this - felt like you at the beginning, but ds is getting better now so is at a very crochety stage and we are pretty sick of each other now! Still cuddling though....poor ds.

bubbleymummy · 25/01/2011 11:51

Memoo I think you are deliberately misunderstanding the OPs sentiments. Perhaps she should have added a clause about the seriousness of the illness that the child is off sick with? Hmm

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 25/01/2011 11:54

memoo, that's a bit much, of course the OP doesn't mean she'd be happy if her child had cancer

teafortwo · 25/01/2011 12:05

I know exactly what you mean!

DD isn't sick today but she has had a very busy few weeks and needs a duvet day to get rid of those black bags, put some colour in her cheeks and basically hopefully prevent illness. Today we have the best of both worlds - cuddly duvet day but without the dark side of having a poorly bunny! I am luvvin' it! Grin

Memoo, I am so very sorry about your friend. My heart goes out to her and her dd... that sort of illness is certainly not fun at all. Sad

supersewer · 25/01/2011 13:50

obviously no life threatening illnesses are present, I was just enjoying a rare day of closeness with DD.

It appears lighthearted posting are unreasonable, I will bear it in mind for the future!!

You can be guaranteed when you post something on AIBU some one will come back with an exceptional case to prove you wron, knowing that wasn't what you meant at all.

eg Do people get annoyed when other kids steal their dc's toys?

My ds has special needs and always steals other people's toys. Shall I just lock him up in future??

onthepier · 25/01/2011 13:56

SUPERSEWER I know what you mean! The other week my dd had a Monday of school ill after suffering from a sickness bug at the weekend.

On Monday she was starting to feel better, lying on the sofa and felt up to having a few snacks throughout the day. I must admit it was more relaxing than a normal Monday as II didn't have the school runs to do and it's very rare that the two of us have the house to ourselves!

supersewer · 25/01/2011 14:00

Swanandduck
My dd stole a book off another child in the library once - par for the course with a 2 yr old I thought, I spoke to her, returned the book etc and the other mother was livid!!
maybe my ddshould be locked up too - when she's better of course!

now I shall sign off to go and play with mildly poorly dd!
