This poor woman could have died. Especially as it took 15 mintutes for help to arrive. She might have well given birth at home.

What is the point of women being in hospital if this is the standard of care they recieve.

Maybe the nhs should employ doulas if they cannot afford enough midwives.

No really!

(Checks registration)... mmm yes still there!!

You know what I wasn't there and no one on this thread was either but here we are again believing a media story... the media that likes to glamourise anything and everything it writes with moody lighting pictures to go with it!

I have no idea if comment was tongue in cheek, or if it was said, or who said it... I was just throwing it out there because quite frankly I am SICK of the midwifery profession being torn to pieces on boards like this.

You know what that HOSPITAL is propping FIRE DOORS open now to prevent a similar occourance and yet it is the bloody midwives being torn a shred off...

Yeah very fair!

And it says she pulled the bell... it is not clear she pulled an emergency bell, you would ASSUME she would but then you'd assume her husband would run out...

Perhaps the journalist assumed all bells in hospital are emergency bells... believe me they make assumptions like that ALL the time, especially if it adds to the drama
