to be offended my "flatmates" Hitler comments?

Hi,

I live together with a single mother and her daughter. I look after her daughter three evenings a week. The mother likes to watch Dad's Army and thinks it is hilarious to ALWAYS make comments about me being German. Her daughter sings the themesong over and over again and her mum encourages her to do so, especially when my German friends are visiting me. At first I didn't mind but after two years of living with them I just think that this is very disrespectful.
Mother asked me once if I would dislike Jewish people ?!

Am I being unreasonable?

Are they English? Maybe you could point out some of the vicious acts the English have carried out over the centuries!
Or you could tell them they are ignorant and immature and you will be looking for somewhere new to live.

I wouldn't bother getting involved in my countrymen/your countrymen thing.

It's offensive and I'd tell them if I were you.

Possibly start looking for another role where you are treated as a person and not just a representative of an entire nation and his history.

If my ds said anything like that to one of his carers, I'd have a pretty big sense of humour failure. It's not great to bring up children to a) put down adults b) demonstrate xenophobia.

As for Germans, they are great, my best mate is German and there are no flies on her, I can tell ya....

Tell that family they are pathetic, embarrassing and annoying then PLEASE if you are unhappy, look for somewhere else to live!!

I am English btw, I just think the kind of behaviour they are indulging in is ridiculous, hypocritical and pointless. And absolutely born of ignorance.
