At my age? Or a jumpsuit?

I like them

I'm 38 JUST Blush

I'm a size 10 to 12...Clebs of my age wear them...can I? Please?

I know this is a style and beauty topic...but I want the bald truth.

I like the shorts ones too...with black tights....and a nice belt...I have nearly no boobs and so I feel I dereve some compenation...I also know I don't look 38....more like 37 and a half.

No...I can pass for around 34 or so...not a spring chicken.

You are about the same age as me. I can remember my Mum wearing similar fabrics/shoulder pads..-does this not put you off?

Tbh I don't think the plain jumpsuits look much different to a top/trousers, but why wear something you'll have to undress in to pee?

However, playsuits and tights will show off your legs and make you feel trendy and I think that's what you're looking for. You're not too old-plenty of 30something mums wearing tights/shorts/biker boot type look on my school run. I imagine they wear the same sort of thing at night with heels.

I do think the toilet thing would kill me, but then I pee a lot.

They are very popular in my neck of the woods. I must say that I often see women looking completely fab in them, but all I can think whenever I see someone in one is that they must have to peel the whole thing off and do an inelegant bunched squat to have a wee.

WimpleOfTheBallet · 20/01/2011 18:14

Well no Poisson....you peel it down...but there's no need to squat! You just sit as usual.

I think the consensus is...do what you want but expect some to judge...fair enough! Grin

Fr I am not a square 38...the industry I work in is full of oddballs and strangely dressed men and women too! So...I think I'll go for it...

I had one I used to wear when I was pregnant last year, it was black silk with embroidery one, I wore it with black tights

TurkeyBurgerThing · 20/01/2011 18:59

I've just ordered an animal print one from Miss Selfridge. I'm 32. I'm going to look like a fat Mel B from Bo' Selecta, but I really, really don't care because I WANT IT!

WimpleOfTheBallet · 20/01/2011 19:28

yay Turkey! I have seen a lovely brown one with little spots...it's a short one with little lapels and a belt you tie.

It's somehow really 1930s! Love it!

I have this one www.designerclothing.com/womens-designer-clothing-c2/womens-designer-dresses-c37/ted-baker-iso-short-black-playsuit-p98033

  • I love it as its quite a 'safe' playsuit!!

I have worn it with fishnets too everyone said it looked good but I did feel a little slapper'ish self concious!

My one, which I adore and felt good in (which is a feeling as rare as dodos)

Disclaimer: In that photo I have no makeup on, no heels on, and was at the end of a busy day/in pain so not standing properly. Don't think it looks too bad all those things considered.

WimpleOfTheBallet · 20/01/2011 20:08

Kaloki...no you look gorgeous in it! I love your hairdo aswell...I can never manage to get mine in any really vintagey style but I LOOOOVE that look so much.

OP posts:
KalokiMallow · 20/01/2011 20:09

Haha, that style takes me ages to get right! Vintag styles are so fiddly, can't believe women used to go out with hair like that every single day!

WimpleOfTheBallet · 20/01/2011 20:22

And without decent tools too! I mean what can you REALLY do with setting lotion and bobby pins?

KalokiMallow · 20/01/2011 20:40

Loads apparently! I bought a book which reproduces old hair styling instructions, it's insane what they could do.
