....27th March???!!

This is for a 4 year old's birthday party btw. That's longer notice than for a wedding!

I haven't got a clue what we're doing at the end of March. There seems to be this huge competitivness over children's birthday parties - who can get their invitations out earliest....

YANBU. We once had a save the date card for a three year olds. I didn't.

We're doing a 'save-the-date' for April (for my Mum's 90th Birthday) so I don't find it strange.

Perhaps she's really anxious that you don't miss it. The more 'notice' the better, as far as I am concerned!

Agree a 90th birthday is a completely different thing. But a 4 year old's party?? Invitations always used to be given out a couple of weeks in advance and that was fine.

Don't know why people get so upset if not everyone can come. Smaller parties tend to be more successful in my experience....

Is it because they need to put a deposit down on a place and need to know how many 'heads' they need to pay for?

It's to make sure you have absolutely no excuse whatsoever short of death. Clearly the woman knows how much adults love a four year old's birthday party.
