going to try not to come accross as arrogant here, but I have a high IQ. Great you might think, but I am so heartily sick of everyone assuming that because I am (apparently) very intelligent, that to have any job which doesnt really need a high IQ is a waste of my talents?
I mean I have lots of talents, I can dance, I can sing, I am a great mum, hell I'd even go so far as to say I'm attractive (on a good day with make up on)
why cant people see that although I have this gift, that to use my other gifts instead isnt actually a waste?

There's more to me than being stupid. I'm short and average-looking too, so I know how you feel.

(Has somebody cracked a similar joke? - sorry, I really couldn't wade through all of this!)

WilheminaAteHer · 18/01/2011 00:04

Smiley is spot on about IQ being fairly meaningless. I learned this at uni back in the early 90s and still do not understand why people bang on about IQ to this day. Far more useful types of intelligence have been identified, but get little attention.

ValiumSilverTongue · 18/01/2011 00:05

lol at some of our our generations' mums.

I'd hear my mum on the phone saying, "ah well no, not university no... hmmmmm. no. well,,,, art? possibly. We;ll have to see".

I've no ideas what these conversations were about, but I don't think she was boasting about me to her friends! Grin

AnyFucker · 18/01/2011 00:05

Val, I am considerably stoopider than yowwww

I am rather tall though, so it conveys an air of immense intelligence, undoubtedly

or at least, that you might be frightened I may put you in a half-nelson if you don't agree with me

Mumcentreplus · 18/01/2011 00:06

It's no wonder my parents don't do those Christmas "round robins".

"X is serving the last part of his sentence at home on tag... Y has not had another baby, thank goodness, and looks like working for a while yet... Z, we can happily report, has formed a meaningful relationship with a girl who shares his love of lists.....A has avoided prison for more than 18 months now, so we're hopeful of a return to pre - school reading form..."&tc...

AnyFucker · 18/01/2011 00:10

eeeemo ?

I have a stuffed emu, is it the same thing ?
