To be shocked to my very core that this young lady threatened to report me to Amnesty International

Well I never! There I was dear readers, at Church having a lovely time eating drinking and generally being merry. Twas the Vicars birthday you see, we're not usually a happy, clappy type Church. Anyway I digress the vicar was introducing me to his Grandson (I'm sure theres some abreviation you're susposed to use on here but I can't keep up with them all DGS or something, looks a bit like dogs though IYWMO (If you want my opinion) AIDA (Anyway I digress again)), so I was being introduced to this lovely little chap and I thought he looks a bit peckish. So I gave a bit of cake not too much mind just a bit of birthday cake. And thats when I heard it, a scream it was. And this young lady comes hurtling towards me. 'You've violated my Darling Sons human rights she shouts. I'm reporting you to Amnesty international, I am'. Dearie me, does that mean I'll get one of those lovely Christmas cards.

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 17/01/2011 17:23

Snore.

woopsidaisy · 17/01/2011 17:23

Grin.
But YABU. I'd be a bit hurt if someone started a thread about me...and I am sure we have all had a least one incident of PFBitis!
Funny though.

AtYourCervix · 17/01/2011 17:23

nah! but you'll not be getting one from DV (dear vicar)'s DGS (dear grandson - yes it does look like DOGS)'s SOPYHOHRM (slightly overprotective yet hot on human rights mum)

MrsDeidreIppy · 17/01/2011 17:24

Don't you roll your eyes at me young ladies, or raise your eyebrows!

Your lucky she wasn't me! My DD is intollerant to 2 main ingredients of cake, I'd have dragged you home to see the results of your piece of cake. DD would be in agony for 2 days.

Deidre, take the weight off your pins and have nice medicinal dry sherry. I don't think you'll do more than a 5 stretch at Ford Open Prison and the Bridge Club there is rather good.

did she leap pews?

Maybe dgs is allergic to egg?

if you had fed dd with cake you would have been wearing cake shortly afterwards.

GetOrfMoiLand · 17/01/2011 17:34

Oh these threads are so blah

DurhamDurham · 17/01/2011 17:37

I laughed, I know I shouldn't but I did.

Now apologise and be nice Grin

containher · 17/01/2011 17:37

I would say YANBU. BUT you were in a church after all- which on the whole, is full of deranged people (cowering to protect myself from the backlash!)
For starters, people who go to Churches beleive that some fellow can hear their thoughts and listen to them and millions of others simultaniously. And they think that there is nothing wrong with the Bible!

So had you not been in Church, I would have been YANBU-ing you. I can't bear these human right bandwagoners and yes maybe DS had an allergy- but then wouldn't that all loving all protecting GOD have been looking down into this place of worship- where prayers are to be answered and think, " Ah just this once, I will hold off on the anaphalactic shock" !

roomonthebroom · 17/01/2011 17:41

:o

However, YAB(a bit)U. We've all done something PFB haven't we? I still cringe at loads a few of the things I got my pants in a fankle about.

MrsDeidreIppy · 17/01/2011 18:24

Containher, that is quite offensive. I had had quite a lot of fizzy maybe a bit too much fizzy.

Gluten intolerance? Egg allergy? Dairy allergy?

I know these didn't exist 'in your day' but I really do believe care must be exercised in these matters.

OldMumsy · 17/01/2011 23:18

Yes loads of my friends suffered gluten intolerance but they all miraculously recovered when it stopped being fashionable.

fiveisanawfullybignumber · 18/01/2011 09:10

OldMumsy this is actually starting to piss me off now.Angry
Have you ever seen a little baby screaming in agony for hours on end because she can't even tolerate her BF mum eating wheat/gluten?
Do you know or even care what eating wheat does to a Coeliacs body. I know this is a mocking spin off from the other thread but these things ARE important!
