I am buying a new washing machine and have been reading reviews online. There are loads of comments such as: ?My wife is chuffed to bits? and ?quick wash cycle saves my wife loads of time? etc. It is 2011 for feck?s sake. Wearing clothes makes them dirty and washing them in a machine will clean them. What has gender to do with this? Women can post their own review if they are pleased/can be fecked. Confused

Husbands posting reviews on behalf of their wives with a suggestion that washing clothes is for females. Exasperated is the wrong word, maybe bewildered would be better. Odd to post on someone else's behalf??

Maybe the wives were too busy washing clothes to post a review themselves? Grin

I do definitely agree with you though!

mangoandlime · 15/01/2011 18:22

Well, why were you looking at reviews then? Tell your husband it's his job. Smile

sarahitaly · 15/01/2011 18:27

Where were the reviews ?

You can earn points that can be exchanged for amazon vouchers or even cash on some sites. White goods often earn a higher rate of points because they generate a lot of of page views.

You might find it is less a case of "little woman use machine, me husband write review for the bimbo doing the washing cos she can't be trusted to string a sentence together" and more a case of a bloke scouring his home for listed items he can earn something by writing about them, and is doing his best to gloss over the fact that his interest and knowledge of said washing machine is very much second hand.

Women are too busy having lives than to be wasting them writing reviews of washing machines! My Dp doesn't do any of his own washing, i do it all - its the only thing that seems to be mine alone, usually cos its a peiece of piss so its the only thing i dont actually mind doing. DP does however, do bedtime, hoovering, load dishwasher, cook etc as much as i do. But to be honest, even if he did use the washing machine, i would still be me that chose it and got excited about its 1800rpm supersilent spin.

I write reviews. Are you calling me a Sarah No Life ? (;

I was dead chuffed with my amazon vouchers and was over the moon when I got crowns on my Dyson and Mudd Mask reviews.

It's fun if you enjoy writing for pleasure.

brightlightsandpromises · 15/01/2011 19:11

you know what Sarah, i think you might just have a point - trouble is, i haven't bought anything lately that i can review! lol
