Have been offered tickets to a Wembley stadium Take That Concert but worried that my dd2 who will be 7, will be crushed/won't see anything/etc.... but she's super-keen to go. Dh thinks I'm mad. Your thoughts please?

Will it not be seated?

HeadsUp · 14/01/2011 09:12

She will not be crushed, especially if you are sensible and avoid the mad rush out at the end by either leaving a little bit early or waiting until they masses have headed out.

She might not see very much, depending on location of seats.

I would mostly be worried about the noise levels especially when everyone screams, it can be too much for little ears, I used ear defenders for my DD at a Justin Timberlake concert as everytime he spoke they all scream, then took them off when he sang and they all calm down.

HeadsUp · 14/01/2011 09:13

BTW they put on a fantastic show, and I can't really be doing with them, but great showmen.

Sarsaparilllla · 14/01/2011 09:14

I think it'll be fine, you won't get crushed, it'll be seated!

She might not see a lot, but then Wembley is huge and a lot of people might not see a lot, but I guess there will be big screens.

2blessed2bstressed · 14/01/2011 09:16

If the tickets are seated, then probably ok - leaving at the end is the bad part, hordes of people - some quite drunk. I'd maybe go, but be prepared to leave early.

Whitershadeofpale · 14/01/2011 15:32

I went to the Circus and I think it will be fine. People are genrally really nice and not to much crushing going on. Even if you have standing tickets there are seats avaliable ( I will be using this option when I go with my 83 yo Nan this year Grin as it's possible she might be too short to see much standing.

I went to see them at Earl's Court with my mum when I was 8 and I loved it and it was a great bonding experience. And I still remember every moment. I've seen loads of brilliant bands but I still think they're the most entertaining performers around and can't wait to see them this year.

7 yr old having to put up with take That! ? Someone should call the ss.

Meikyo · 14/01/2011 18:15

YANBU - it will be fine. I took my 7 year old daughter to see Paul McCartney at Hampden last year and we are also going to Take That in Glasgow this June (DD is 8 now).

flippinggorgeous · 14/01/2011 19:15

I don't think you should take her. You could send me the tickets instead...
Wink
Seriously, I'm sure she'll be fine, most of ther audience will be mums so even if it is a bit of a crush near the front she'll be ok.

ohnoshedittant · 14/01/2011 19:19

I think she'll be fine. I went to see Take That when I was 9 (first time round obv, I'm not 11!)and it was fab fab fab!

Sparkletastic · 14/01/2011 19:22

please take me instead - I'm desperate to go Grin

mamatomany · 14/01/2011 19:29

I wanted to take my three until i realised i was going to have to pay £250 a ticket :(

Fontsnob · 14/01/2011 19:30

I think you're all underestimating the raw power of that many women at a heightened state of erm?enjoyment... Dd could quite possibly be crushed by the weight of perfume and inappropriate talk about what would be done to Gary Barlow if chance was indeed a fine thing.

oggybags · 14/01/2011 19:37

CHECK YOUR TICKETS - I'M NOT SURE THEY ALL ACCEPT UNDER 18'S

Hooker · 14/01/2011 19:39

YABU, take me Wink

HeadsUp · 14/01/2011 23:53

Under 18s fine for take that, but do check if it is standing because sometimes they have age limits for standing areas.

charliesmommy · 14/01/2011 23:55

Fine so long as you are seated..

At the Green Day concert there were loads of small kids there with their parents.. and I also didnt see one single drunk person either... so I would imagine that is even less likely at a Take That gig!..

HeadsUp · 14/01/2011 23:59

Found these T&C on a ticket web site,

""The Progress Live 2011 Tour" at London Wembley Stadium, please be sure to note the following conditions:
** Under 14's must be accompanied by an adult.
** No Under 5's!
** You are advised to take care if you buy take that tickets for Level 5 as it has a very steep gradient."

HeadsUp · 15/01/2011 00:02

Wembley Arenas general T&C

"7. All children must have a ticket. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Standing areas are not suitable for
children under 14 and 14-16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult. Events may be age restricted and it is the
responsibility of the Ticket holder to check before purchasing."

HeadsUp · 15/01/2011 00:03

Sorry but you will se many drunk woman at a Take That concert these days.

I remember when it was all young girlies of school age and a bunch of pissed off or scared looking parents begging earplugs off of first aiders

Guacamole · 15/01/2011 00:08

My Mum took me to see Paul Young for my 7th birthday... I remember it fondly to this day 26 years on! I think your DD will love it. She also took me to see New Kids on the Block when I was 11 and Metallica when I was 13, she supported me through all of my music phases! Incidentally my Mum and I would love to see Take That, but we couldn't get tickets! :(
