to think about buying a Miele washing machine?

they are stupidly expensive but supposedly last twice as long (or more) and have excellent reviews in Which - anyone got one? Are they that good? Have only ever owned one old Hoover machine and had always assumed that you couldn't really get stuff that clean - does a more expensive washing machine clean better or is it hype?

I don't find them that expensive tbh, think our basic one was £600, when you consider I went through 3 washing machines in 6 years, all costing 300- 400 hudred each, my 5year old mieles a chuffin bargain!

The Which best buy (which washes 7kg) is just over £950 in JL (with a 10 year guarentee though).

This star performer from Miele more than deserves its Best Buy status - it's the highest-scoring washing machine we've ever tested. It gives excellent cleaning results and is easy to use.

The Miele W5740 breezes through a hefty 7kg load in just over two hours on the cottons programme, and only takes an hour and a half on a full easy-care load of 4kg.

It's consistently excellent at getting your clothes clean, and follows up with a very thorough rinse for both cotton and easy-care garments, getting almost all the powder out of clean laundry.

it does go onto say that it is "not particularly quiet" though.

Thanks - will check it out Quiet for me is not a big point, though big capacity and a very wquick wash cycle is. (Not that I am impatient you understand...Wink)
