sisters released if one donates kidney

Jamie and Gladys Scott were locked up in 1993 for their part in an armed ambush that netted them just £7 in Mississippi.

What exactly do you mean by 'the' American system?

There are 50 states you know.

They each have their own judicial system.

There is also a federal judicial system.

ISNT · 10/01/2011 15:39

Is there a link to what they actually did, and all the rest of it?

If it is the case that others who did the same thing have been released, then that's iffy.

Also I don't get this whole kidney business. What belgo said.

Thanks for the link.

The whole thing seems most peculiar, illogical decisions being made all the way through.

I totally agree with the American penal system, the British one is a joke, life is not life but 15 years for good behaviour. At least the American way sends out a message that crime does not pay, and that you will be severly punished. The prisons seem a lot harsher which is how it should be, commit a crime serve the time I say.

pigletmania · 10/01/2011 19:18

I dont agree with the capital punishment though, just serving the rest of your adult life in prision for the worse offenders.

So it should be, its about punishment whatever age you are, you can be elderly and still committe a crime.
