Blody bloody git 'D' H doesn't want house - he wants a hotel. Which I don't think I do.

The DDs are 12 and 14 so too little to be let loose in forrin parts and too big for being next to mum or dad at all times. Which is why i think a villa would be better.

Bloody git 'D' H has decided he doesn't want to have to do car hire or any sort of shopping and/or cooking.

Bloody boring 'D'H doesn't want to have to get a boat anywhere (because he's scared of boats)

In fact bloody boring difficult 'D'H is no longer invited and he won't got off his boring arse and get himself a bloody passport anyway so i don't know why i'm letting him upset me.

sod him. i shall be booking somewhere nice and leaving him at home.

We have just booked for Crete in May half term. Booked a package with Thomas Cooke and even got a free childs place. Staying half board in a hotel so I don't have to cook. Bliss as I do it all at the moment. DH wanted SC but I pointed out that it wouldn't be much of a holiday for me. It's the first time we've been since having DC and I'm stupidly excited. :)

I did similar Jajas, though about 20yrs ago. I found it to be the exact opposite though - loved Turkey, Greece was ok. Agree with the sometimes scary attention girls on their own can attract in Turkey. Oh, happy days!!

Rhodes! Rhodes town is gorgeous and the little deer are so sweet. The jewellery shops are wonderful and the people are lovely.
Lindos is spectacularly beautiful, little sugar cube houses are parked on the steep hillside and the beach at the bottom is really nice.
It has amazing historical sites too. Some nice day trips are available to neighbouring islands.
I work from home as a travel agent if you want me to find a rough idea of price for you? Just inbox me if you like.

We've been to Greece for the last three Auguests. We have a SC apartment but don't cook anything. We have yoghurt and honey,or croissant thype stuff for breakfast and, if not on a day trip, bread and tsatziki and fruit etc for lunch, then eat out in the evenings. If on a daytrip, we tend to just find a bakery for lunch.

Santorini was deffo more expensive than other places we've been to; Kos and Zakinthos were still quite reasonable (although I wouldn't go back to Kos). Zakinthos has good and bad bits - Alikes and Alkanas are still quiet; other bits are Club 18-30 type and vile-looking.

Augusts - don't know where that 'e' came from!

Santorini is amazing. Stay in Oia if you go here - it's really fabulous.

I thoroughly enjoyed Hydra which is a close hydrofoil ride from Athens. It's an island with only two motorised vehicles - one for rubbish and one for water. Everything else is done on donkeys and it just has a lovely laid back atmosphere.

I also really enjoyed Naxos although it was mainly because we went at season end. We hired a car in Hora and drove until the road ended. There was a taverna and fabulous beach there so we persuaded the owners to rent us a room and we had the whole place to oursleves.

I have heard fabulous things about Patmos but never been.

Went to kefalonia in October.
Stayed in Sami.
Really lovely and very large island.did a coach trip one day to see the sites with a fab guide and hired a car for 3 days. Bit nerve racking driving (husband did the driving) as I kept thinking we'd be over the cliff at any moment, but a great way to see all the places we'd read about on peoples reviews on Trip Advisor.
We were very surprised how cheap it was to eat out in the evenings, and paid anything between £25 - £40 for 2 of us with drinks.

another vote for Symi; quiet, untouristy and very very pretty.
