as in Waitrose is a cack supermarket?

The only times I have ever heard that word were when I was at primary shcool up north and it was another word for poo. I hated it then and still do.

Give me shit any day!

Cack is an awesome word and massively underused imo.

YABU.

pinkstinks · 06/01/2011 11:58

Lol...

throckenholt · 06/01/2011 11:58

I can cope with cack - but shit irritates me - particularly when it is just used to mean stuff (like my office mate does !).

I guess we are all stuck with other people's use of language.

EduStuckintheSnow · 06/01/2011 12:35

I believe 'cach' is Welsh for shit. It is also said by my Nan. A lot. So YABU Grin

yousankmybattleship · 06/01/2011 12:37

YABU - it is a great word. Up there with bint.

twirlymum · 06/01/2011 12:44

Cloth-eared bint is one of my favourite ever insults (not that I have ever said it to anyone!)

ShoppingDays · 06/01/2011 12:48

YANBU

upahill · 06/01/2011 13:10

It's better than the word 'sick' when they mean something is great or cool!!

I really dislike that one!

usualsuspect · 06/01/2011 13:13

I like the word cack, so yabu

Mypombearisveryold · 06/01/2011 13:19

YABU.

I think it originates from Roma, where caca means poo.

You wouldn't have a fag and a cack, and you probably wouldn't be shit handed.

Mypombearisveryold · 06/01/2011 13:20

I like bint too, and div.

bupcakesandcunting · 06/01/2011 13:24

Cack is a great word, YABU.

I love div. Did not love it when DS aged 3 called me one yesterday, though Blush

I have no issues with the use of cack in English, it derives from the Latin cacare. I hate the use of bint as a derogatory term. It is Arabic for daughter and, IMO, should only be used in Arabic.

surfandturf · 06/01/2011 14:25

Not fussed about cack - wouldn't use if myself though. I hate the word bint.

coatgate · 06/01/2011 14:35

Whilst I do associate cack with shit, I also think of cack-handed which means clumsy....

EllieDawn · 06/01/2011 14:38

I don't mind cack but have always hated the word snog, sounds too much like snot and makes me think of ickiness not kissing.

Ooopsadaisy · 06/01/2011 14:38

I love the word cack. I thought it meant poo.

My favourite word is scrotum.

I also like the words skanky and muppet.

Friend always uses expression headfucker for her ex-hubby. I don't think it's literal.

dinnerdinnerdinnerbatman · 06/01/2011 16:24

Cack is great (not literally)!

Whilst growing up, my mum would always say to me caca instead of dirty.

Hate hate the word chunder (shudder).

cabbageroses · 06/01/2011 16:50

Funny old world..

I remember that children used to be asked if they needed a "cacka"- not sure of the spelling but kiddies version of cack. (AKA poo)

I just hate it- the really common girls at school used to use cack. Smile

I have never associated cack-handed with poo- I just thought it meant clumsy.

Is this a north -south thing?

I was from the north but never hear cack in the south.

I LOVE the word CACK!!! It says exactly what you want it to say - it sounds sticky and yucky! Love it used as an expletive Grin
