Reratio - Tories clearly cut public spending. That is unarguable. But this is well known. At least they don't make promises such as scrapping uni fees only for their 'leader' to sit next to DC looking like a pathetic twat in Parliament before THE vote on fees.

Awubble How the hell do you know from the OP that Vicarinatutu is a 'standard pleb' and has no understanding.

You seem to be a patronising twat from reading your post whereas the OP is just someone with a political opinion - that differs from your own?

usualsuspect · 09/01/2011 15:18

Well I'm a standard pleb and I hope the libdems get their arses kicked

Stands with VicarInaTuTu in plebs corner

YANBU - and judging by the opinion poll in today's paper that is what will happen!

Remotew · 09/01/2011 16:19

I voted Lib Dem in the election and the candidate won by a massive majority, I would vote for them again as Labour can never win and I would rather have a Lib Dem representing our area than a Tory.

RobF · 09/01/2011 16:22

Why did people vote Lib Dem if they wanted Labour?

ccpccp · 09/01/2011 18:50

If you think Nick Clegg hasnt already got the message you are a fool.

Hes doing what needs to be done to fix the country, and if that means breaking a few ill-placed election promises then so be it.

Posters whining in silly threads like these achieve nothing more than to put pressure on someone who is acting in their good. Even though it doesnt feel like it.

Who would you replace the Condems with? Labour? Haaa ha haaaa!

ManateeEquineOhara · 09/01/2011 21:02

Fuck yes I would replace them with Labour in an instant if I could!!!

The ConDems are NOT trying to 'fix the country'! You are naive if you think they are not acting out the ideologies of the Conservatives - that of a transformation of people in society from citizen to consumer - the deficit is a handy 'reason' for the implementation of their ideology, and it has no relation whatsoever to what is good for the average citizen (consumer). And the Lib Dems are just playing along for power.

Remotew · 09/01/2011 21:14

They are all liars imo. I would like to see a law passed that would hold them to their promises if elected Grin. It's total misrepresentation and wouldn't happen in consumerism.

nogreythatmatters · 09/01/2011 21:28

If that lying crook Phil Woolas had not behaved like he did, there would not have been any need for a by election.

ccpccp · 10/01/2011 08:45

"You are naive if you think they are not acting out the ideologies of the Conservatives"

Sorry if you dont like the fact that the ConDems are in power, but I'm afraid that is what parties do when they are in government.

After 13 years of the most hateful class-driven policy from Labour, its a refreshing relief to see the country wake up to common sense again. And if it can all be wrapped in a nice deficit reducing package, with clearly signposted blame pointed at the inept previous government, then labour wont see power again in this decade.

lampoon · 10/01/2011 08:47

I'm split on this I don't like the coalition but I really don't like what they guy did win this seat

ManateeEquineOhara · 10/01/2011 17:22

Ccpccp - the clearly signposted blame at labour is erroneous. The global recession/credit crunch is to blame so in 'clearly signposting' the blame on to Labour, they are denying the real cause of a problem they claim to be fixing - not the best starting point to do so!

years ago in Tower Hamlets the Lib Dems put out loads of leaflets during election campaign, playing on racial stereotypes due to couple of incidents in the area. That campaign led to every Asian in the borough over 18 voting Labour (the Asians had elders literally go to every Asian household to encourage this), and the Lib Dems were obliterated, havent gained power in that borough since. So its not just a Labour candidate who's done this, dirty tricks are par for the course..none dirtier than Clegg tho, who has become a Con just for the glory of power, and being able to park his arse in a ministerial limousine. There is lying, and there is blatant lying. The Lib Dems deserve to lose, they went too far and think the voters in this country are idiots. Clegg broke the pledges he made to his supporters and he did it pretty damn quickly as well, so why exactly would he be trusted? And having just watched the result I am soooo pleased to see that, the Lib Dems did lose!

ccpccp · 14/01/2011 08:14

ManateeEquineOhara - good luck selling the 'it wasnt us it was the cwedit cwunch' line to anyone who isnt diehard labour.

But anyway. OP - good results for the LibDems, yes?

Looks like the MN lefties are out of tune with public opinion yet again.

ThatVikRinA22 · 14/01/2011 15:30

good results for the lib dems? not really - they lost!

and i do love it here - on one thread im being called a part of the fascist police state and on here im a MN leftie!

I just hope they all come back and take their bloody posters down.

What a nightmare being in a byelection constituency.

The amounts of crap we have had through the door.
The amount of money that has been spent on literature.
The southern posh gits stalking our cobbled streets and knocking on our doors.

Thank goodness they have all gone.

But what a dreadful turn out - 48%! I think people where simply fed up of the whole thing.
