So stop already with the festive emoticons. For a while there I thought Xmas Hmm was a new MN phrase I was not a part of and I hate being left out. So stop with the effing and let go of Christmas!

no - 12th night is tonight -

No I'm not superstitious in the slightest - just told myself that this year they'd be down on the 12th night..........rather than the start of Feb as it was a few years ago Xmas Blush

\link{http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/religion/4126725/Christmas-ends-in-confusion-over-when-Twelfth-Night-falls.html\confusion over 12th night}

and \link{http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/xmas/twelfthnight/index.html\explanation} (including the OED definition Wink

and I must stop doing those Christmas smileys as they don't work any more Grin

tbh if the Bishop Of York still has his tree up then that is good enough for me. :) He seems fairly sound imo.

Problem is in our house is that it is fairly late on in December that we get round to putting tree up (23rd one year I think). So they don't seem to have been up for long.

I imagine that those of my friends who put theirs up in July late November are more than ready to take them down.

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 05/01/2011 21:26

I've switched all my lights off.

Will take the rest down tomorrow during the day I think.

GrimmaTheNome · 05/01/2011 22:21

Our decorations have to come down on the 6th, whatever the CofE says - otherwise DD will insist christmas does indeed start on xmas eve and I'm just not having that !Grin

(maybe I'll use GrinchaTheNome next year, though I can't usually be arsed with festive names).

ThatVikRinA22 · 05/01/2011 22:22

does this mean i have to finish the mince pies and chocs all by tomorrow?!?!

our decorations came down on sunday!

Serendippy · 05/01/2011 22:25
