Met up with some moms from school over the holiday.

There's a new teacher at school, who I think has been great for DD3 (Year 3), he's really enthusiastic and inspirational. He's also the only male teacher at the school Sad.

One of the moms obviously has issues with how he's been with her DD, and came out with the comment "he looks like the sort of guy who hides his PIN number when he's keying it in". Confused

Is this actually an insult?

And what is she actually suggesting by this?

Yes he does Trills.

He also looks like the sort of guy who wears a vest on a winter's day.

He looks like the kind of guy who locks his house when he leaves

He looks like the kind of guy who opens windows on sunny days

He looks like the kind of guy who goes to a doctor when he's ill

Grin x 100 at this thread

However I can see how this is an insult. It always says on the cash machines that you should hide your PIN. But we all think "yeah right . . . so what are the odds chance that the person behind me is a criminal, sees my PIN, manages to remember it, stalks me and manages to get my card out of my purse/bag/wallet without me noticing [as if I did I would report it immediately] and get to a machine without forgetting the number?" and don't bother.

Someone who always hides his PIN is therefore someone who always follows instructions from authority, or indeed any kind of pseudo-authority, no matter how much rational thought shows those instructions to be utterly ridiculous.

Which is a bit of an insult for a teacher.

katiestar · 02/01/2011 19:52

Um that he has got common sense

ChaosTrulyReigns · 02/01/2011 22:07

I think you're right katies, but I think it's more about being overly cautious. Grin

A guy who grabs the loo roll before he has a wank...

ChaosTrulyReigns · 02/01/2011 22:13

Thanks weedle, that's an image that I'm sure will follow me into to next parents' evening.

I think that's in the job description for a teacher, actually Grin

blueshoes · 02/01/2011 23:23

The sort of guy who leaves the toilet seat down.

The sort of guy who replaces the loo roll after he has finished the previous one.

The sort of guy who never runs out of rubbish bags.

The sort of guy who renews his road tax before it runs out.

...

I like him already

A guy who brushes his teeth before trying to shag you.

Looks like the sort of guy who goes to bed when he is tired, rather than talking to strangers on the internet all night and being grumpy in the morning.

And that is my final contribution for tonight :)

ChaosTrulyReigns · 07/01/2011 23:38

Looks like the sort of guy who dries his toes thoroughly.

Another one she's come out with recently - "looks like the sort of guy who waits for the green man before crossing".
