Not been out on new year's since before DS (4) was born and I don't miss it at all. I can go to bed when I want and not stay up just for the clock to strike midnight.

This has made me feel better, my DH is also asleep! I don't like the programmes on, though, Jonathan Creek too spooky (and crap) really and I like Helen Mirren as Elizabeth...perhaps a new Christmas book is the way forward!

I honestly can't remember the last time I went out on NYE - think it was 1992! MIL's birthday is today so we usually do something for that, but she's not coming over(damn!). DS1's girlfriend is over so we're drinking raspberry bellinis and going to play stupid games when we've finished watching Shooting Stars. God, i bet you're all soooo jealous of my glamorous life.Grin

We're staying in with the bairn asleep upstairs, eaten a curry, watched a DVD, and now DH is on the phone to his mum wishing her a happy NYE.

My idea of an ideal night.

TiraMissYou · 31/12/2010 22:07

We took DC's for pizza and pantomime, then home, kicked off heels, on went slippers, now Mn-ing while DH faffs about making mulled wine. Peeerrrffect Xmas Grin.

Who needs to snog and cheer with strangers these days??

mumonthenet · 31/12/2010 22:10

we've had roast lamb and champagne, feels great - don't have to go out and get squashed in the crowds near the beach...we're watching the concert on live tv anyway!

Love staying in on NYE!

All my mates are going to a house party somewhere in town, but we couldn't afford the £5783974329 an hour that a babysitter would charge and I'm pregnant so am finding it increasingly hard to stay up beyond 10pm. So far, my evening has consisted of:

Steak
Profiteroles
One small glass of red wine (pregnant)
Roaring fire
Cat on lap
Crap telly

Lovely!
