AIBU?

AIBU to want to keep fairy lights on my mantelpiece?

I live in an Edwardian house (1907) and my living room has a bay window with the original stained glass - very pretty. It has a lovely mahogany fireplace with tiled insert and I have a real fire.

At Christmas I put fairy lights on the mantelpiece and they look so lovely I want to keep them there all year round.

I'm being unreasonable, aren't I? It's just it's going to look so bloody dull when I take all the lights down.

Please let me keep just those!

ahh yes the bunting too. That went up 4 or 5 years ago and stayed up. It's not christmassy paper at all so just looks pretty rather than festive.

YANBU. We've left ours on in the kitchen. Too lovely and cosy to take them down Smile

If you use clear ones year round what ones you use for christmas?

in the shop, the clear ones are the christmas ones, and winter.

the ones we have at christmas at home are multi-coloured (and the new ones have changing twinkling and sparkling that gets on my nerves)

Apart from the few weeks surrounding Chrustmas when they are reappropriated for the tree, we have fairy light entwined in our headboard. They're much less of a faff than candles!

If they make you smile - you keep 'em!
If they make others sneer - their problem!

Don't live your life or decorate your house according to what other people think.

If people judge you because you have fairy lights up all year round, then it says more about them then it does you.

I love fairy lights and have some wrapped round the branches of a swiss cheese plant. They look gorgeous and twinkly!

Peter Pan? I'm happy to be labelled as such. I love fairy lights, sparklers, and all things glittery!
