Hi

Im on holiday from work at the mo, due to go back on tuesday.

Over the last few years a few of us have gone in over the christmas break for a few hours to try an catch up on paperwork without the phones going.

I should have gone in yesterday but ended up going the emergency dentist with dh, he had to have a tooth out.

Anyway i sent a text to my boss explaining that i wouldn't be in but could go in friday morning for a couple of hours, i got a text back last night saying no one was in on fri but i could do 10 - 4 on monday.

Its practically a full day, i know if i dont go in things will be very frosty.

aibu to not go in at all?

I had a boss like that too. Say you are away for the weekend and won't be able to get there until 2 as you're driving back Monday morning. And look for a new job!

email her and say I'm sorry but I have plans for Bank Holiday Monday, as this is a goodwill gesture on my part I am happy to come in on Friday between 10 and 12pm, please let me know if this is convenient.

If I don't hear from you I'll see you when I return from my holidays on Tuesday and wish you a Happy New Year

If you´re on holiday, why should you have gone in yesterday?

If you need to make that day up, fair enough, if not, you shouldn´t be going in.

hiya, i was asked if i could go in yesterday for a couple of hours, i said i would to keep the peace really, dh had been up all night the night b4 with toothache so i ended up running him the dentist (his van isn't taxed until jan). I haven't replied yet about monday but ive decided not to go in, thanks for the suggestions.

Just text back saying, I'll be in at 12 then for a couple of hours

diddl · 30/12/2010 14:26

So it was a favour to work really?

And now you´re unable to do it due to commitments?

Well, that´s too bad for work, isn´t it?

Will someone else have had to do it for you?
