to expect size 2-3 trousers not to be 6 inches longer than 18-24month ones?

Just bought ds the next size up in pyjamas as his 18-24month ones are now too short. I bought 2-3 years from the same shop and they are well over 6 inches longer, so now neither size fits. Am hoping they shrink in the wash a lot.

Why don't you just roll up the trousers and sleeves? A couple of stitches in the side to keep them up and they will fit fine and then when your DS grows, cut the stitch, unroll the sleeves/trouser legs and they will still fit.

Surely that's makes more sense than shrinking the clothes in the wash and then having to buy more clothes becuase nothing fits?

The top is fine, just the legs way too long. They are cotton pyjamas so they won't roll up, and ds will not grow into the new leg length for at least a year I reckon. They are tescos so usually shrink right down within two washes anyway. If not I will have to try another shop.

Obviously not the worst problem in the world, just a bit irritating.

well they cant make the sizes only like 2 inches apart otherwise it would have a new size every couple of months like baby clothes 0-3 3-6 etc?
if you shop in different places you can get ones with a different size guide that will be more ideal while he is inbetween eg verbaudet size 2-3 goes to height 94cm which is inbetween the next ones of 92 for 18-24 and 98 for 2-3..

Do children really grow 2 inches every couple of months? Wish mine would.

actually good point i dont really think mine do either.. but still no point making them almost the same size? anyway try the vertbaudet

All shops seem to differ when it comes to clothes sizes - my dd looks normal to me but judging by the clothes she is tall and skinny as I have to buy age 2-3 (and lengthwise they fit - she'll be 3 in 2 months time) but I have to get adjustable waists as normal ones fall down!

I have a skirt 18-24 months which is still too wide by an inch of material. I've given up waiting for her to fill it, I'm going to get the needle and thread out.

My DS always has the oppostie problem, always have to get him the next size up as the trousers are never long enough!
He is tall, but i wouldn't say abnormally tall IYKWIM.
Its frustrating because his bum area is all saggy with the next size up, so his bottom half never looks just right Sad
But he has got a cute face, so its alright Smile
You could roll them up a little, maybe stitch on a button on the outside etc.
