Etiquette in the cinema

I don't go to the cinema often.......but today took dcs to see the Focker film.
Lots of teenagers about, fine, but then we had a group of 10boys and girls about 12 to our left who basically talked throughout the film. THen threw popcorn at each other.
We also had a couple with their 2children who were about 3/4 years old- who jumped up and down on the seats and shouted for the film's duration.
What was the point of taking lo's to a 12 film?
Do people not consider other people anymore?
Having forked out over £30 I will carry on with DVDs in future.

Management are missing a trick here. I love films and would happily go more often but have had too many films ruined by this low level annoyance. DH and I rarely go now to cinema unless it is a film that will have very little appeal to youngsters. The concept of sitting quietly and considering others seems to have fallen entirely by the wayside. Nobody minds a few words, or a bit of light crunching, but wholesale running, kicking, shouting, giggling etc is a real pain. Hence we stay home with comfy sofas, nice bottle of wine and clean loos.

I once politely asked a woman if she could ask her DC to stop shouting in the row behind us and she did just that, made them be quiet.

Ah, lovely I thought, all it takes is a friendly word, the world is a lovely friendly place Smile

Then, for the next half an hour she proceeded to say whenever one of them coughed or rustled their popcorn,

"shhhhhhhh the F ing C* in front of us says we're too noisy!!" Shock

we left.......
