in thinking the only way to get any response on MN these days is to start a sensationalist thread on AIBU?

There, I have said it. I know I posted a thread late at night, I know it was in a board not as popular as AIBU or Chat but years ago you could post anywhere/anytime and get a response.

I am moaning. I am harking back to days gone by and I know I need to get over it and move on.

I shall miss the wisdom MN once held though.

AIBU in thinking AIBU was the point that MN jumped the shark?

i know, it's a shame, but not sure there's anything anyone can do, the boards move fast these days. you have to think harder about the thread title. bumsex is a lazy option.

BeribbonedGibbon · 22/12/2010 23:49

See I don't think it always has been like that Baroqin, not in my experience in years gone by. Maybe I got lucky. Or maybe, as I said, AIBU has been the downfall of MN's credibility? I know many will not agree but I do wonder if a few feel the same?

I don't know about bumsex being a lazy option. It's above and beyond the call of duty most of the time.

one of the first things I learned about MN was the way to get lots of responses was

a) to have a controversial title

b) make it a really long winded title

or

c) make it a sensationalist title

if you can manage all 3 rolled into one you're onto a winner Xmas Grin

BeribbonedGibbon · 23/12/2010 00:05

Maybe I got lucky years ago. Maybe I look back with nostalgia or yearn for camaraderie gone by. Maybe I will just start every thread I create with 'my cat wants to lick my c, btw do you think I should speak to GP re DD'

It's a shame, a sad day. IMO anyway.

Bollocks, I was going to post on your thread, but stopped and deleted it because I know nothing about it.

I will know better next time Smile

Especially if your cat want's to lick your cunt. I hope it was cunt? Oh Christ, it's not cock is it? Or cake? Have I horribly misunderstood?

tethersjinglebellend · 23/12/2010 00:09

want's?

Gah.

OnthefirsdayofMrsDeVere · 23/12/2010 00:09

I use AIBU in the most shamless fashion.

It always works.

I do it a lot when I want to shout and rant about missing my DD.

I know full well no-one is going to say 'well actually I think y a b a teeny bit u and should pull yourself together' Grin

AIBU should really be renamed 'LOOOOOOK AT MEEEEEEE'

Chat is ok if you can grab attention with your thread title.

BeribbonedGibbon · 23/12/2010 00:14

AIBU should really be renamed 'LOOOOOOK AT MEEEEEEE' made me lol in real life.

tether, my cat is partial to cock, cunt and cake. Take your pick Wink

MrsDV - just realised who you are. Christmas must be so heart breakingly hard Sad Truly, my thoughts are with you. My mum still aches over my brother (as do we all but not with the same pain as a mum)

OP posts:
tethersjinglebellend · 23/12/2010 00:18

I'll have all three please, Gibbon. But not necessarily in that order.

BeribbonedGibbon · 23/12/2010 00:22

I think it's a good order to be fair. We all need a nice bit of cake (and a cup of tea)after some C&C

OP posts:
tethersjinglebellend · 23/12/2010 00:24

I quite often need some during.

FabbyChic · 23/12/2010 00:26

I only look at this board, it seems to move quite fast.

Maybe the people who used to post on the other boards got lives.

juneybean · 23/12/2010 00:26

Yip I think you have to swear to get an answer

BeribbonedGibbon · 23/12/2010 00:26

Have image of you pausing for a nibble on some battenberg

Ah yes MadamD - I remember those threads urging us to answer to unanswered. Good call.

YANBU.

I usually post here or in chat and I still don't get replies sometimes. It drives me mad tbh. If it isn't controversial, it clearly isn't interesting enough for people to help on which I find annoying. I even bump a few times for different times of the day and it makes no difference. I am always asking a question as well, not just letting others know information.

SeaTrek · 23/12/2010 10:19

YANBU

I usually just go to AIBU when I visit MN. Almost always because I feel the need to procrastinate. MN has definitely helped make me a worse mother. I think my new year's resolution needs to be not to visit AIBU. Xmas Grin
