I just got home from my local supermarket and i actually think people go bit crazy at christmas.
My ds got knocked over and people don't even say sorry.I no its busy and people are in a rush but i think there is something about this time of year that makes alot of people loose their manners!

Oh dear.

I went to Waitrose this morning and it was very civilised. Only had to queue for about three minutes too and a nice lady gave us a chocolate!

Usually do it on Chritmas Eve in Sainsbo's and that's fine too - but I do get there early.

I need to shop where you shop i think, I always wait and let other people pass and tell my children to move but it does start to get annoying when you see that others are just out for themselves.
But i won't let it spoil my christmas as i have only one more trip now to the shops and i am done :)

I failed to get dd2 some wellies today but don't think I can face any more shops!

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 22/12/2010 17:53

I went to Aldi for their bannoffe cheesecake, my god, couldn't believe how civilised it was, they could teach the Tesco lot a thing or two

bupcakesandcunting · 22/12/2010 17:54

I said yesterday on my own supermarket bedlam thread that Aldi is very civilised. I reckon everyone takes on the Scandinavian chilled ways when they pass over the threshold.

mommmmyof2 · 22/12/2010 17:55

oh i agree i don't mind aldi, that is where we normally go and never had a problem

mommmmyof2 · 22/12/2010 18:16

Yeah we have alot of the desserts from there and they are lovely and reasonably priced. I could not go shopping at tesco and sainsburys on a regular basis, TinselinaBumSquash good luck

Took MIL to Tesco today to do her shopping and my god, the insanity!! people pushing through and tutting if you didn't move out of their way (when you didn't even know they were behind you - don't people learn to say "excuse me" anymore?!?!). Other people with their kids running loose and creating havoc, some people standing in the middle of the aisle, blocking it entirely, chatting forevvvvveerrrrrrr with someone they've bumped in to (and apparently not seen for years Hmm).
Not an experience I want to repeat any time soon.

greenbananas · 22/12/2010 21:43

I went to Asda today and it was fairly civilised. Ridiculously busy, but full of polite and smiling shoppers all taking turns to get to the shelves.

PurpleLostPrincess · 22/12/2010 21:55

I was just about to post in AIBU, asking if I'm being unreasonable to do my big Christmas food shop in the middle of the night, for this very reason! We have money going in just past midnight, so I'm thinking I could hit Tescos at around 1am and it shouldn't be as busy and I can saunter around at my own pace. I know from experience they have all the trollies etc out, but anything's better than all those people...!!!

mommmmyof2 · 23/12/2010 10:20

PurpleLostPrincess i totally agree and i think will do that in future, late night shopping sounds a good idea.
I have always wondered what it would be like going at that time as i have heard that people go in their pj's! But as you said anything better than the pushing and all the mad people.Grin
