They taste like shite and Nestle havent changed or updated them in years, same old shite fruit creams, and them horrible long toffie ones in the yellow wrappers

i was disscussing this with my collegue yesterday while we were scoffing the purple and green triangles (the only ones i like)

oh and i didnt buy them, they were a pressie from a customer, i never buy Nestle, oh no.

I love the orange creams... No one else does in my office so I will be a fat piggy today...

togarama · 22/12/2010 10:32

I've always been a bit reticent about claiming to boycott Nestle since their chocolate is so gross that I would never buy it anyway.

BendyBobCratchit · 22/12/2010 10:32

I don't like them either. I don't like soft, fruity chocolates and esp don't like choc orange.

I think people (ok me Xmas Blush) probably choke them down if that's all that's left though.

Tins of Heroes and Celebrations are never left in the shops, they've all been snapped up. But QS tins are still piled high in our Asda.

BendyBobCratchit · 22/12/2010 10:34

Purple nut one is lovely though. I'd eat a whole tin of them..

Furball · 22/12/2010 10:43

I can confirm QS are Shite!

I bought a tin of celebrations and a tin of QS this year for a change and they're not good. All the green triangles have gone and so have the purple ones (there were only 3 of those in the WHOLE tin!)

tigerbear · 22/12/2010 10:48

Agree with most of you - a tin of Quality Street brings back nostalgic memories of going to my Nana and Grandads house on Boxing Day, and there'd always be a tin. However, the quality is crap. Nasty fruit ones - bleurgh!! I've got a tin in the kitchen, and all of the good ones have gone.

Imisssleeping · 22/12/2010 10:48

They're only £4 in Asda, £5 in Tesco and £6 in sainsburys

MurkyTurkey · 22/12/2010 10:50

YABU The wrappers make excellent stain glass windows which keep small children amused for hours.

nannynobblystockingnobs · 22/12/2010 10:54

I bought Roses for trick-or-treaters for Halloween, and they were shite- all updated and new flavours, most of which seemed to be 'chocolate' rather than fudge or fillings. They were reeeeally boring. I am going to buy Quality Street!

Trubert · 22/12/2010 11:03

My problem with Roses and partcularly with Quality Street, is that so many of the sweets are just different shaped pieces of toffee.

Toffee is NOT chocolate.

roulade · 22/12/2010 11:18

Celebrations are fab but they need to bring back the Topics!

QS are proper shite, all Nestle chocolate is complete crud (IMO) Xmas Grin

sparkle1977 · 22/12/2010 11:31

I love QS, much better IMO than Roses, Heroes or Celebrations. Particularly love the orange creams.

Bring on the QS I say!

sockmonkey · 22/12/2010 11:39

Roses are the best. But they keep changing the contents.
Bring back the old strawberry creams.

marzipananimal · 22/12/2010 11:45

I like them - actually prefer them to roses - and LOVE the orange creams. But I've recently started boycotting Nestle again after realising that they're still engaged in highly unethical practices around the world

ethelina · 22/12/2010 12:19

They're all shite IMO, the only Christmas chocolate worth having is After Eights and I've just seen Nestle own these do that's another source of fun gone Xmas Sad. oh well, best get baking cookies instead - need my empty calories from somewhere...

blackcoffee · 22/12/2010 12:22

furball there were 7 green triangles in mine, you were done!
saying that, they are shite though

perfectstorm · 22/12/2010 12:22

Vile. Really horrible.

I hate cheap chocolate. I love cheap crisps (the poncy posh ones leave me cold - I want fake cheese flavouring and vinegar so acid my mouth waters eating them) but cheap choc is just nasty. I feel sick after a single one. Creme eggs - God, I heave.

It's weird, but I am far more extreme in that hate since having a baby. Morning sickness left me with a much more delicate gut, even years after.

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/12/2010 12:25

My gran always said Quality Street were for common people.

Which was rich as we were as common as muck.

But we had to have Elizabeth bastard Shaw orange crisp thins.

I have always thought QS the height of luxury since then.

Mind you those vile strawberry creams need to go. And the round toffee circles which always threaten to pull your teeth out at the roots.

GoldFrakkincenseAndMyrrh · 22/12/2010 12:30

Heroes or Celebrations all the way. Hate QS.

soccerwidow · 22/12/2010 12:30

Roses are shite now too!

Why on earth does there need to be FOUR caramel ones? and no bourneville anymore, no proper toffee just those red things that sit in the bottom of the empty tin!

Mummy2Bookie · 22/12/2010 14:07

Yes they are shite. I hate when they are given as presents too. It's so last minute and unthoughtful.

ChunkyBrewster · 22/12/2010 14:12

Soccerwidow, yes, yes, yes! I was examining the Roses yesterday and there are no mint ones, just 48 fecking caramel flavours.

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 22/12/2010 14:16

QS are the nob's choice of Xmas chocs. Why else would there be so many tins left in Asda?

Prinnie · 22/12/2010 16:27

Soccer - you mean the brazillian darkness? They're my fave!

deaddei · 22/12/2010 16:29

They are vile. mAke my teeth ache and give me migraines.
My mother thought they were common (in the 1960's) so I never had them as a child.
I have no chocolate for XMas except a selection box for the dcs
