Have been invited last minute to dinner at dh's friend's house. Dh volunteered me to make a dessert. I Made a tart tatin yesterday but it has a slice out of it. Aibu to take it rather than making a new pudding?

He is a good friend, there's only going to be four of us and we have 4 inches of snow. There is plenty of all in the reminder of the tart also. Maybe I could pre-cut it? Or should I just man up and bake something else?

If you don't want to pre-cut, put a dish of whipped cream in the space - I've a friend who always cuts a slice out of a pie / cake etc precisely so she can do this .

I always have to cut a tiny slice. Thats because i dont trust my baking Blush so i have to taste it and dh to taste it before i take it somewhere, i cant take the risk .
I wouldnt mind if you did this.

Managed to resist confessing. Everyone enjoyed it and no remarks were passed on pre cut pieces. I brought it in a disposable tinfoil tray that could go straight in the oven to save their washing up ahem
